Been asked to sign for infringements from months ago before I started at my current job, guess what I said
From Bradford to Bristol and back
start sun 20:00; finish Mon 07:45
I recorded, from printout,
8:50 Drive
0:47 Break
1:05 OW
1:03 POA
total shift 11:45
They say
Start Sun 20:00 : Mon 07:45
8:50 drive
breaks not recorded
ow not recorded POA 0:14 Total shift 11:30
They also claim that there was 4:42 driving without a break, which is impossible cos when I was very low on time I pulled into Michaelwood services on the way down for a 45, and on the way back I was empty and I was a wee bit quicker. but total driving time 8 hours 50 minutes
Daily rest of 23:15, they say 17:44 WTF
Start Tues 07:00, I finished at 12:20
They say I finished at 13:16
but they record the same WTD work as I did.
I give up My head hurts
Just where the ■■■■ do these people get off, they could potentially lose someone their job, I’m just glad of my DHG and the excel spreadsheet I’ve got.
What really gets my goat is the fact that this info is gained from my digicard, which is the info I put into my spreadsheet (and mine adds up correctly) so where the hell did they get their software from?
As regards to driving time everytime the wheels move its driving.
Not knowing where you delivered to but say an RDC out of scope driving has been done away with so even driving round the RDC will count as driving
I know some of the quarry boys could make some time whilst driving round the quarry at times but as i said they did away with it. Just a thought that might have clocked up a few min here and there as for the rest some ppl used to keep their tachos on rest but with most dig’s they revert back to work if you move and stop so this was done to ensure you turned the tacho to rest when you had rest.
Everytime I’ve used a dig I have always taken a print out so i can check what had been done and recorded then if i had forgotten to change tacho to rest you could make a manual note on the reverse side …
The only way to settle this argument is to analyse the raw data file that is stored on your driver card. Although you say the driving was some time ago, it may well still be on your card.
If you want an honest opinion on the days in question then e-mail me your card downloaded data file.
I got an infringment last week according to the boss my tacho was still in the machine from 11pm till 6am.He said “You must have left it in.”.I replied “I doubt it I hadnt worked for three days and I,m not in the habit of sleepwalking three miles just to put my tacho card in the coach.”.We dont know how or where the trase came from. But I refused to sign the infringment form.
