Arrive 3 am gets tri no and told to strap it up , gets tri and nothing on it
, given wrong tri no , load I need is still in factory being made , go get yourself a brew , 2 hrs later do this were not having you sat round go get this tri and strap it up, 1 hr later another driver comes up and says message from t. O , unstrap load and drop tri
, goes in and asks scores , not your fault , ------- shouldn’t of given you that load so I know it’s a pain but just drop it , does it and goes back in , your loads still not done , get yourself a brew
.
If head planner had given me load I strapped up it would be fine , but because he believes -------- has undermined him by handing out a job the bloody driver suffers , , 3 am- 10 am and I’m still sat here drinking bloody tea , what a bloody shambles
, I’m out of hours 18.00 and I bet I’m still sat here drinking bloody tea
Just another joyful day in the world of haulage, Dozy old mate!
Not the first time, and not the last time etc…
Paid by the hour bud. Surf the web, polish the inside of your truck, read a book. Do anything you fancy happy in the knowledge that they are paying you to do something far easier than battle with the plebs on the roads.
I love getting paid for drinking tea and surfing the Web. But if I started at 03.00 (yeah right ) I would be parking up a lot earlier than 18.00.
Have you ever thought about the Samaritans dozy? For a job I mean. Just reel these problems off and any basket case will think their life’s not that bad. On second thoughts, it may just push them over the edge
This is fate telling you to slow down dozy. Hope you have given it a try this week and stopped chasing round like a headless chicken.
In all seriousness, it’s time to move on, take a job that’s salaried. No more chasing the pounds, late nights with no dinner, worrying if you’re going to get any ot this week. I would only ever go back on hourly pay, if a flat week could match my current wage. Chasing the hours is a mugs game mate
Park the unit out of sight stick it on break and hide and hope they forget about you and do nothing all day.Thats what a would do if they want to be knobs and arse you about cause they cant speak to each other.
Nobody ever crashed a canteen chair, it’s safe and legal to be holding/drinking coffee whilst in Control of one, so chill out.
Dozy, I don’t know how old you are but you’re a prime candidate for a heart attack before you hit 50, with all the pressure and bs that you allow yourself to be put under.
If you are over 50 …start worrying mate!
Dozy dozy dozy, we all get days like that, Yesterday I started at 0215, gets upto Trafford park about 0315, to load a box for a tip in Rotherham at 0500(or as close as possible), only problem when I get to Schenkers, they don’t open until 0600, I’d been told it were 24hrs. I ring the night planner, put the ball in his court, as regards late delivery. Then its Kettle oclock, smurf the Web, and inspect me eyelids. 0530, guys turn up, I go in and about 15 mins later, and am away just before 0600, arrive at Rotherham for 0720ish, get put on the naughty step, spend all day there, which makes it Kettle oclock then smurf the Web, inspect me eyelids, then kettle oclock, watch Jeremy kyle, muck out the cab then kettle oclock and repeat. Parked outside at 1700hrs. Its cool Ive been paid, the rest is some one elses problem
If your salaried paid then worry if hourly just sit back and wait for overtime to kick in
