Switzerland....I might be behind the times here

Now Switzerland are part of the Schengen list of countries do we still need to clear customs and get the papers sorted etc.■■?
Not been down there in a while so just wondered.

I would guess that as Switzerland is not in the EU,you will have to do the biz as before.I haven’t been in a while either.

I went there about a year ago and travelled on T forms- haven’t heard that it’s changed since then but you never know…

off there tomorrow and have to get t form at dover and clear at basel on entry, but when reload get t forms sorted and it clears in the ec at germany so no need to clear it back at dover dont ask :exclamation: :exclamation:

Did it a couple of months back, T from from uk customs (mine was just a single sheet of paper like the old forms but with a bar code on), get it stamped by French customs on border, then I gave that and all my paperwork to Swiss on border they stamped it and I then cleared at Prattien, you will need your vehicle docs to register vehicle at Swiss border for tax and get your vehicle id card if you haven’t already got one

No need to go to the french if your clearing in swiss(ie patteln)only need to do french if clearing on boarder ie st louis.

You still need T-Forms for Switzerland, because Switzerland isn’t part of the EU.
I don’t think the Schengen Agreement has anything to do with it anyway. Isn’t the Schengen Agreement something to do with refugees ?
The EU thing is to do with the free movement of goods within the EU.

The procedure for T-Forms concerning goods transiting or entering Switzerland, (through the St Louis or Weil am Rhein borders at least) is -
Your goods are entered into the system by computer, in the UK, by an agent.
T-Forms are generated, as these are computer generated you no longer need the consolidation document if you have several consignments in your load.
The driver gets a copy of the T-Form, one for each consignment .
In Hull (which is the port I use) when booking onto the ferry, the port office notifies the system that these goods have left the UK.
At the Swiss Border, you present your T-Forms to Swiss Customs, for ordinary general goods you no longer have to go to the Customs office of the country you are leaving the EU from.
The Swiss Customs scan the bar code which confirms to the system that these goods have entered Switzerland. You may get a load inspection.
An agent finalises the customs formalities for goods imported into Switzerland, the customer may be authorised to clear their own goods.
You should be told which agent will be doing the final clearance of the goods you are carrying, it could be more than one.

You are right, the eu thing simply means that there is no difference in the procedure involved in sending goods from Maidstone, whether they are going to Manchester, Matlock, Munich or Milan.

Schengen is about passport control- it is to do with people, not goods. We are not part of the Schengen Agreement which is why you have to show your passport to Immigration at Calais etc, although we are in the eu, so we don’t need T-forms etc.

its like a cattle market down,by st louis, the parking is terrible in the morning waiting for them to open thegates,.
and make sure you fill out your milage correct, when youcome back the border the do check ,done the galliker run down to altishofen, once a week, but alas, east block workers are cheaper, and we lost the contract, but anyways a nice place.
