Dafdave are there not 3 bridges in germany between achen and koln near duren that are 4 0mtrs and not all that well signposted?

The Germans will not necessarily signpost a 4.0m bridge. With a 4.0m height limit they may only sign bridges less than that. You’re right there are a few lowish bridges along that section.
