My mate just text me, He came through Bardonex border into france after completing his delivery in swiss, the truck lane was closed saturday evening, He said,so he didn’t hand his tax in, Doh ! , he asked me what to do, should he post it or what ?, I think he should post it with photo copies of previous days taco to prove his k’s are correct, as they might say he done more k’s than stated. I think he might get a fine,Never been i this situation myself
He should definitely get it to them somehow otherwise next time he goes in they might take his Km reading then as his exit one from this trip.
Tell him next time the truck one is closed walk over to the car lanes and do it there.
Would it not be best to keep stum, posting it or sending any documents may prove guilt

Only if he never goes back to Swiss in that vehicle. As far as their system is concerned he is still there so the next km reading they get for that truck will be his leaving reading, that’ll be a big bill if he has been to the UK and back in the meantime.

hmm, spose so, and the Swiss will have rules about leaving the country after the border has closed, it could mean war!
I’ll tell my mate to call his agent who may be able to advise him or at least point him in the right direction, thx for replies so far
A few years ago, co-incidently at the same border as the OP, the ticket was given back to me by the Swiss, saying that it was
not required. Odd, I thought, but thinking I might save some money, I was pleased to get on my way. However, on my next visit the vehicle card was rejected by the toll machine when I tried to register the start mileage for this particular trip. I went to the office, where I was shown a photo of my vehicle leaving Switzerland on my previous visit. The officer was quite ok about it, asking me if I had any idea what the mileage might have been for that trip. He then calculated the cost, re-activated the vehicle card, and charged the previous trip to the company account at no extra cost. Don’t know if thats normal policy or if I was just fortunate!

Same happened to me a few years ago after another driver came out at Saint Louis without paying, but they wanted to see the tacho for the date the truck exited Swiss so I had to get it photocopied and faxed to the border before I could pay and then get a new ticket. They charged me the end mileage of the tacho as I couldn’t prove the exact mileage. Thank ■■■■ it only went as far as Mulhouse
Thx for those replies, i’ll tell my mate to get his arse on here and do his own stuff in the future, at the the moment i’m his agony aunt lol, thx again
