Sweden tomorrow!

I have a delivery leaving Harwich-Hook of Holland and on to Sweden tomorrow. 7.5T job. Gotta be there Mon A.M by the looks of things. Going to Ludvika which is a loooong way. Anyone been?
Really looking forward to it actually, I have never been to Sweden. Been as far as Norway so far. Any tips(Genuine ones you shower of gits!)

sweden is lovely, beware of the moose and watch out for the speed cameras because they look nothing like ours. very small about 3 feet of the ground.

Thanks for that.

no probs, ■■■■ btw are £3 a packet over there .if you smoke great, if you dont, bring them back and flog em. :sunglasses:

It ain’t cheap there either take a lot of shilling with you if you decide to go out for a beer and some food.

i used to tip uppsala a lot, swedens a dodle anyone can speak english so directions are no problem we used to stop at garages we called smiley bear they had a big smiling bear on the signs and were always full of trucks.you could get a hot dinner there and it was"nt too expensive. It can be tricky in the winter but this time of year no problem.dont even think about trying to smuggle whisky into sweden you will upset em big time

Many times, probably my favourite country in Europe. Easy to drive in, fit women, great scenery, fit women, nice food, fit women, friendly people who just about all speak English and fit women.

On route from Gothenburg to Arlanda Airport, Stockholm in the early 90’s.

Delivering into the building where they train Swedish Air Hostesses. Happy Days.

I also did a dozen or so trips from Marlow to here in Stockholm a few years ago delivering TV studio equipment when that building was being built for Swedish C4 television.

ah sweden love it… and coffee the roads are still the same… empty… im off there on friday next week… got to be one of my fav countrys… spent a few days in a cabin by the lake a few weeks ago… lovely

Great women - terrible winters & busses with more lights than Blackpool.

Hi Bigvern. As has been said Sweden is an easy country for drivers. If you are tipping in Ludvika you have plenty of time.
One thing which has been said which is slightly wrong. Now Sweden is in EU you are permitted to take alcohol in with you so get some, you can always sell it to pay for food if you don’t drink it yourself as it’s very expensive here.Abottle of whisky will cost you at least 250krona. :frowning:
At the moment the weather is raining with temps around 18c in the south and about 12c here in lappland.
PS.Norway is the one for problems with alcohol.Good trip.Mike

I would go again tomorrow. Enjoy your trip.

Cheers all. :sunglasses:

Everything thing above very true, I currently truck to sweden most weeks got on of my children with me on this trip, currently I’m waiting for the ferry back to Germany from Trelleborg having been to Trollhatten this week with parts for Vauxhall’s ( I jest Saabs) makes me laugh that all the packaging they use says opel/gm on it.

The weather this week has been crap and I glad to be going home. One piece of advice is to watch Eastern europeans who drive brit reg vans over here - not sure how thet make a living but two dutch lads I met in a service area in Varberg had caught them try to nick diesel from their tanks.

My lads a bit disappointed as he hasn’t seen any elk and wanted to bring one home as a pet !!

I thought Moose were much more than 3 feet off the ground, or don’t you measure the antlers?

It’s in book 2 so if I ever get round to publishing it all will become clear. Suffice to say it involves steam, nakedness, Lufthansa air hostesses and flatulence.

Poor girls, how embarrasing for them. Spending too many hours inside a pressurised aircraft cabin can cause hell with their digestive systems!! :open_mouth:
