Anyone with recent exp got any words of warning or encouragement about this lot ? Understand money’s not great 31k-40k advertised but it’s 5 mins from my house and offering day work as had enough of tramping. I’m guessing that would put me on the 31k mark which I can live with as long as that’s not 65 hour weeks and they don’t take the Mick.
Also a flatbed virgin, how steep is the learning curve, don’t see much sheeting going on these days but are these the sort of firm that will stick an experienced pro with you or just leave you to fend for yourself?

If you read any reviews on indeed, you’ll see it’s not a meat grinder, more a gas chamber, apparently they queue office staff included to leave, says it all
Theve never had a good rep, an money always been shocking.
Think you’ll find night out money is included in £31,000 so yup £550 a week.
They are ■■■■■■
If you need experience take it.
Good luck

TBH my hunch said avoid, it was literally just the fact I could walk to the yard that interested me. Thanks for your input.

It’s gotta…
Be worth giving them a week or two of your labour to find out?
First hand experience of the good the bad and the ugly. Flats are nothing to be scared of, they’re just curtainsiders without the curtains.
A walk to the yard is worth thousands a year in yer wages.
I took old Mr Swain on holiday once. To Norway. I doubt he’s still about though. That’s my exciting and helpful contribution to this topic.
Actually I do have a useful contribution! I tend to advise people to not talk too much to people in making their decision. One man’s meat is another man’s gristle. All the jobs I’ve loved have had neysayers putting them down. Which is fine, it’s up to them, but in most instances I simply find you are treated how you deserve to be. If Carryfast were still with us, peace be upon him, he’d put the other side.
Also I’ve done flat work a fair bit. Can’t rope and sheet to save my life, despite Dad trying to show me but you generally don’t need to rope and sheet anymore. If it needs a sheet it’ll go in a curtainsider and in these much more safety conscious times you should be strapping stuff in a curtainsider as you would a flat anyway.
I did a week for them, ignorant office staff, lied constantly. Trucks were ■■■■■■■■■■■■. New trucks never given to agency staff. Truck I did get was probably the dirtiest I have ever experienced in 15years of agency work. They always said in the morning grab a curtain sider. They were always buried behind 5 flatbeds.
My advice is unless your a new pass avoid them like the plague. Which is what you bay catch after being in one of their trucks.
