Anybody remember suttons of cornwall?based in the fishing port of newlyn near penzance.
They ran a fleet of green aec 8 wheelers in the 60s and 70s,in the 70s the fleet became yellow fodens, also in the 70s they ran karrier bantams, bedford tks,a bedford tm and bedford tl.
I think they became part of w s stevensons of newlyn.
Please feel free to post any pictures and any comments.
New I had a pic of 1 somewhere
I remember them, running up the A30 at night. Always very nicely kept trucks, I think the last time I saw one was in the early nineties up at Poole.
Don’t know what happened to them, although am guessing that transporting fish via La Mouette was a more cost effective option than running their own trucks. Dennis Oates or Andrew ‘Uggy’ Newport would know the full story.

Use to pass them twice everyday, parked up loading, on the way to school back in the 70’s, always kept immaculate, use to do Billingsgate market every night, I reckon. IIRC, they had 3 of them Fodens running.

Thanks for the pics Stanfield, I can just about remember the AEC’s but it’s the Foden’s in that striking yellow that stands out in my mind.
Always heard that Sutton’s & WH Stevenson’s were dead mans shoes jobs, easy work & good money.
I think stevensons took over suttons, can anyone else confirm this?

Suttons sold out to Falfish in 1996. Ben
