Call me a bonehead if you like but ive just been asked by a new driver why they call susies by that name and after 34yrs on the road i have to admit I DONT KNOW help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The name derives from the designer Mrs, Susan Chamberlain. She worked for Allied Plastics of Stockport during the early 60’s I think.

Hmm that could be one for a google search. I did once repair one that i,d ripped . That was when they were metal ends. I unsrewed the other end and matched the wires and it worked. I belive today they are all moulded.
