If it is a numbers game surely a blunderbuss approach would be ideal, right?
So, if you wanted to approach all potential employers (driving) in person (as some suggest) within a given radius how would you ensure you had located all of them?
Cheers.

Ideal jobs don’t usually exist
The best, and closest to ideal, usually mean getting in somewhere with potential and earning your spurs
Carry a paint can & mark a red X on the gate of every Co’ you’ve visited !
The ‘numbers game’ is often misinterpreted by those who don’t fully understand it.
To find the ideal job, first you have to be looking for it.

Third time lucky for me, i’ll only leave if i get sacked or for decent euro work.
Keep trying and don’t give up one day it will be yours… Providing you don’t think you are an expert (of which there is no such thing) and are not arrogant to any potential employer.
Good jobs are rare, but they do exist.
Don’t forget good employers are in exactly the same boat, finding good drivers is getting increasingly hard, part of the reason good jobs are never advertised is that they prefer recommended applicants, but someone showing some nous who knows no-one already employed can be equally welcome if they put themselves about.
Look for those companies that run decently maintained equipment, not necessarily bling or biggest cab on the road, but well looked after and clean.
Don’t email or phone, you’re just one of hundreds, turn up at the door and sell yourself, be polite and look and act the part and always carry one page CVs with you…you want the gaffer, should you get a couple of valuable minutes with him, to imagine you representing him at his customers premises.
