Support Iranian Drivers

biggriffin:

Odd days:
One wonders what they produce in Iran that needs to be driven all the way to the uk , the costs must be quite high. Would putting it in a container by sea be cheaper.

Raisens, dates, figs lots of fruit, they export thro Turkey, lots gets re-packaged so it can be sold in Europe, due to the export bans the Stoopid Yanks impose.

The same stoopid yanks bg,that certain people want to get into bed with after Brexits dust has settled!
That nutcase will do to the UK as he has done to all his “allies”,drop em like a hot potato when the time suits him.

As the original poster says, same as us guys out there, just doing a job.
Always had a soft spot for the Turks, and Mid Eastern guys anyway.
Sound lads.
So much so,that a few years back, during a warm summer,I met these 4 at a changeover point we used to do.
Knowing their wages and conditions,I went into the next town, got 4 iced creams and 4 cans of coke and drove back and gave them to them!
Happy they were!
Might well have been one of the guys who fed me in Basle many moons ago!

I am fairly well travelled and have rarely received hostility for being a Brit, especiall y when i surprise foreigners with my complete dislike of football. It has always been my belief that regular folk all over the world would get on,by and large, until politicians start to stick their oar in.

And Pistachio nuts, Iran is a big producer of these quite expensive nuts, they used to take them to a processor somewhere up near Barnsley…

My 112 was the height of luxury for me back in 1983 when I first got one after the F88 !

You’re not wrong there, back in 2018 the Iranian Government were threatening to execute the leaders of a drivers strike and arrested many more once the strike became nationwide, just one of many protests by ordinary Iranians, against the hard-line government and their policies which have lead to international sanctions which as always mean the ordinary people suffer not those responsible. Of course we in the west should also ask our politicians, “Are those sanctions justified, when its ordinary people, especially children who suffer most?”
