BBC News - Coronavirus: UK supermarket delivery hours extended
bbc.co.uk/news/business-51800046
Mainly about delivery drivers but could affect us all, especially the paragraph:
"This will give supermarkets a lot more flexibility to keep the shelves full. The spike in demand last week has yet to tail off. They also want an extension to the maximum number of driving hours for delivery drivers. The government will waive these restrictions too, if necessary. ’

Has somebody invented a 30 hour day, as the big supermarkets deliver 24hrs a day and receive/pick products 24hrs a day, seven days a week.
Even small convenience stores except deliveries from 06:00 to 21:00.
It’s only the EHO restrictions that limit delivery times.
Like I said on the other threads about this,…
Why is it suddenly and miraculously deemed 'safe and acceptable.
’ to drive over your hours.
Answer…Because it suits ‘them’.
I don’t do supermarket work, but it would still be a max 13 hour day for me,.and 15 and 10 when it suits me…■■■■ em.
Anybody who accepts and does this, is a ■■■■ mug imo,… at the very least it’s a golden opportunity to stick together, say no,.and hold them to ransom, but we all know it will never happen.
Tesco can get in the bin anyway, still remember them scrapping the eight hour guarantee in the last recession and sending the poor ■■■■■ home after four hours sometimes. Shoe is on the other foot now.
