Super grip tyres

driving back from Bridlington to Withernsea this afternoon, I was followed by an 8 legger tipper, loaded but no idea of weight he was carrying.
Friday afternoon and he was in a hurry, so I eased over and let him past (I’m in the car, LR Discovery) I am in no rush.
.I simply could not get around the bends and corners as fast as him, where did he get these “super sticky tyres”.
He disappeared into the distance in no time at all.
Not compaining about his driving etc, he was not pushing me etc and didn’t pass in a risky manner, just surprised at how well he held the road.

Probably knew the road better than you

Eight legger tippers cling to the road and corner better than any other normal road going lorry.

Friday rules and a tipper driver to boot :stuck_out_tongue:

Absolutely SFA to do with your thread but a mate of mine’s from “With”.

Not very often it comes under the spotlight, thought i’d crowbar it in. As you were…

does he drive a tipper?

My mum was from “With” too, what the hell she was doing in a sleepy little village where she met my Dad I will never know, probably missed the donkey cart home.

No, he’ll be driving a black Volvo soon though!

Does his name begin with H?

His name’s Chris Page. He moved down to Ipswich in 98’ iirc, a depot transfer from HTL Immingham to Felixstowe/Ipswich. His mum and dad (Frank Fussey?, another wagon driver) still live there though.

Can’t say the name rings a bell.

Nor to me!

There must be two new families in With now then :stuck_out_tongue:
That will help to spread the inbreds

Dead right, you cannot have any more fun in a lorry than belting the life out of an 8 wheeler, you can take bends fast enough that you fall out of the seat…so I hear

Moving to Suffolk will feel just like home

I’d love to refute this scandalous accusation with a witty reposte, a quick glance out of the window however…
