Thats the way to do it, when paid by the hour take as many hours as you can.
I am regarded as paid by the load if working extra to my normal week, hence my $300 for 5 hours on a sunday, it has it’s downfalls though. Tonight I have to leave home at 8.00pm to run down to NYC for tomorrows load and will get paid nothing for the 5 hours it takes to get there.

Sod that, on a day like that get it done asap, but I am guaranteed 8hrs.

Same with any run that won’t exceed 9hrs, as that extra hour only pays 15mins afer the break has come off it

Why are you paying for de-icer to de-ice the company vehicle If they wont pay for it just start it up and leave it running until it defrosts, that would have got you an extra 30 mins wage with no outlay on your behalf and probably cost the company a lot more than you paid for your half tin of de-icer and when the isotrack spy in the cab asked why it was idling for 30 mins tell them. Really Ady it do’nt take much brains to work that out,but it do’nt take much brains to work out that if a company asks you for xxxx amount of pounds to drive their wagon ( as a owner driver )and your already doing that and getting paid even though they cant keep you busy as an employed driver then you are really gping to be struggling as an owner driver. But you think thats a good idea cos your Gar a fortune

it was my car/my de-icer,thats what ■■■■■■ me off,get out of bed 2 a.m,freeze your ■■■■ off de-icing the car,to find out your going out for 5 hrs,im not a zb office worker,im a truck driver,to get out of bed on a sat/sun you want a minium 13 hrs,preferabally 15 hrs,i know some of ours have just gone tramping,dont really want to but needs must,so going to stick my name down and hopefully geton it a.s.a.p

Just use a scraper on the windows, that way you won’t waste money on the de-icer and Sunday’s will be better. If you don’t fancy all that scraping, a brick or hammer will also improve visibility.

Just a few days ago you were saying it was wrong having to sit about rather than being allowed to go home when there was nothing for you to do. Now you get a job and knock and it’s wrong as well.

Goes to show you can’t please all the people all of the time, you can only please some of the people some of the time…

If I had that shift it would have been a minimum of 6hrs and a Sunday premium complete with much rubbing of hands and counting of money But it wasn’t…

thats why i left the muppets and went onto tankers, spent more sundays sat in a stobbie depot and 2pm just in case one of the local drivers didnt turn up monday…

best move i ever made, suggest if your on here ranting about them ady maybe make a choice, moaning wont get you anywhere.
