Sunday Afternoon Gloom

tezza:
That’s one reason I love 4 on 4 off

Ooh - I might be tempted back to full time yet!

Harry Monk:
Does anybody else get a feeling of gloom settle over them at about this time on a Sunday afternoon as they realise the weekend is all but over? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nope.

I’m noticing a recurring theme in your posts.

The worst Sunday night gloom was my school days the theme tune to last of the summer wine,Howard’s way, poirot etc used to mean bath hair wash and school in the morning :frowning:

How well I remember that rising dread! I despised almost every aspect of school, yet loved learning. Aside from the fundamentals, I would say that I largely taught myself. Guess that illustrates the huge failings (at least for me) of yesteryear`s education “system”. One of the finer memories from my early youth was when I skipped out of those gates for the very last time, and gave it the 2 digit farewell salute.

Me too!
Fastest I’d ever moved, school books and cap straight in the bin when I got home.
Working the following week, never really looked back.

Yeah every Sunday without fail !!! Worst part of tramping

Yep I’m the same Sunday afternoon just waiting for Monday and an early start. when I was tramping I hated it knowing I’d be be up some ungodly hour, but as soon as I’d started work absolutely fine and happy.

4 on 4 off, I’ve no idea what the day is

I work off the phone (basically a zero hrs contract) so sundays are a bit gloomy , on the one hand ive got the offer of a couple of beers (that could expand to a few more ) with the lads , or I could get a call as late as @ 8.30 pm to go at daft o clock in the morn :frowning: . as he who likes to be obeyed (small man syndrome) as a tendency to sulk a refusal often leads to no work till he gets a night run in the week …decisions decisions hic cheers hic

This Sunday was gloomy for me as I approached East Mids airport after a three day stag weekend in Spain. Hth.

Before I retired some of the jobs I was on I had that feeling your talking about through to about the Wednesday afternoon and then I got the good old Friday Feeling. Eddie.

Personally, I get the blues on Saturday evenings. I’ve just started a job 3 months ago that involves working Sundays and I hate it. I didn’t realise how much it would affect me.
I’ve got no problems working Saturdays, but to me, Sunday working is the pits.
