Thereās nothing I like more than scraping my knee on the floor at over 100mph, itās totally legal and the police even come along to check for the odd stolen bike but always stay all day to watch. There will be a time, not too far in the distant future, when the Health & Safety Executive and the Police decide that you can no longer be allowed to do that, because motorcycling is more dangerous than sitting indoors watching propaganda on the television.
This is the problem. Not just one new law, one new petty rule, one more item of fancy dress that we are required to wear, but the insidious drip-drip-drip of total mind control.
It happened in Switzerland!! I doubt itāll happen here as thereās too much TV cash floating about!! (I hope!!!)
Ross.
Watching the electric bikes on the TT circuit, that thought did cross my mind, although Rutter did lap at 104mph from a standing start

Tfft, I thought I was alone in seeing this distopian [zb] nightmare being unveiled by the day.![]()
There are clearly a few of us Mr Goaty, but it seems many are walking into the gas chamber in the full & certain knowledge that itās all for our own good!!!
Ross.
I remember seeing somewhere someone had posted loads of youtube videos of the results of crashes where the driver wasnāt wearing a seatbelt.
In all cases the driver was thrown from the vehicle spectacularly but what struck me was that (provided they werenāt struck by another vehicle) they always staggered to their feet.
Thereās that vid of the Turkish? Scania artic where he pulls in front of a tipper and is thrown fron the cab abd gets up - I reckon the injuries might have been worse if he was wearing a seatbelt.

We wear seatbelts to save our lives, end offā¦But the Law should be there to protect citizens from the actions of others, not to protect citizens from their own actions. If I choose to take the enhanced risk of dying in an accident by not wearing a seatbelt, then itās my life and my decision, surely?
To a certain degree, yes, butā¦
If your not wearing a seatbelt and are seriously injured, then it involves ambulance/police/fire brigade/air ambulance, etc etc.
Then you have the stay in hospital, time off work etc etc.
All for not wearing a seatbelt.
āCareer choiceā.
Said emergency services couldāve been social workers, farmers or bin men.
Are you trying to to put them out of work?
So if i could spell better that would make all the differance to my comments, because i canāt my comments shouldānt count.
Iāve got along in life and have done very well so carry on spell checking me, It will change my life thank you o mighty one.
P.S SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING
Wall, head, bangā¦
Let me hold your jacketā¦
Iāve just checked the regs. police, fire, and militry hgvs are excempt from speed limiters, it dosnāt make any difference if the vehicle is attending an emergency or not, itās exempt.
and speed limits?
50mph on the A12/A14 for trucks
Just seen on crime watch uk roadshow today

I saw that on TV before.
I suppose the rule is, if you see a solo unit coming up behind you, treat it with suspicion just in case.
Yorkshire HGV donāt stop there a fella āpassager sideā but on the crime watch he was on the bunk as someone was in passager seat then he was on the radio and a police car pulls you as the police tractor unit drives pass and say if itās the one
