went to doctor on fri as mouth all sore and all my tonque has all split open , really bad , couldnt eat hardly , he said its a fungal infection , its zb painfull whatever.
he said do you ■■■■ sweets whilst driving and i must admit ive always got a packet of mints or something , he said chewing gums o.k
i or my mates have never heard of it but has any one else , didnt get into how it causes it as i was in that much pain i just wanted something to clear it up .
all id say if you do ■■■■ sweets id change to gum as it really is painfull .
I went through a pack and a half of extra strong mints whilst driving the other night!
I normally kill a pack in a shift.
What kind of sweets are you referring to?
The sugar kind or mints??
i mainly have foxs glazier mints [ those clear things ] can easily demolish a bag a shift , go back on fri if its no better , so if i do need to ill ask but he seemed to be refering to the sucking of sweets than type but as i was in that much pain [ tonques split open all over ands red raw ] i was more intrested in a cure than what caused it . dont know whether its another bit of rubbish doctors do come out with but i wont be sucking sweets from now on .
Smoke instead, that’ll kill any bacteria that are causing the infection.

I wondered who was going to be the first to say that, and your name was near the top of my list.

Ady, does the surface of your tongue have what look like cracks in it …and if so if you look to the back of your tongue has it got what looks like a white coating, do you get a bitter taste in the mouth with a sore feeling …bit like when you drink something too hot…
cracks are what is known as geographic tongue where infections bacteria can get in and . Everybody has levels of yeast within the body but when we get an oral infection the the yeast will turn to fungus i.e (cANDIDA is another name for it)
Anyhow cut a long story short SUGAR feeds this type of fungal infection i.e. sweets,Alchohol etc owt wi sugar init .
And finally there is also one other type of subsatnce that will not help but I will let you ask the MRS.
Dr codey recommends pineapple chunks from the tin on the tongue OR a product from the chemists I think its calle DAKTARIN not sure if thats how yer spell it but IU find Aldis pineapple chunks are better and cheaper

Try sucking on a “fishermans friend”, but be careful, i`ve heard that they leave a funny taste in your mouth!!!
Dont forget, its only polite to ask the fisherman if his friend minds though
Maybe you should try spitting any fluids you get from sucking.
It may stop any infection accumulating
I wouldn’t bother chewing gum , my dentist isn’t happy with my teeth .
6 fillings , all from spending the past 18 months chewing gum .
Now I’m onto extra strong mints .
