As the title says had a successful job interview with a family run quarrying outfit driving tippers and skip lorries, £1.69 an hour more than my current employer, now just have to hand in my notice of 2 weeks then start, can’t wait. Have to say I have no problems with my current employer, but for the massive size they pay peanuts, so had to make some sort of move as they weren’t willing to up the money. they’ve put me through some training and will probably fleece my last pay cheque, I know loyalty is a thing of the past but should I work out my notice in full or just leave after a week? What’s your thoughts?
Sometimes you think the grass is greener.
Ask yourself: do you like your current job? and can you manage on your current wage?
If you said yes to both questions I would stay where you are for the time being
Paul
The main issue is money Paul, job and guys are great but struggling with the basic pay, would be £65 a week better of a week I know it doesn’t sound a lot but will make a difference over a year, this was a word of mouth job, and 9 where interviewed and I got it, if this was advertised more would of applied, this is a family run outfit not multinational
Maybe best to sleep on it. Don’t make any rash decisions. Having said that I think you’ve made your decision.
All the best whatever you decide to do.
Paul
I would leave on good terms, explain your situation but try to find middle ground as you may need to go back one day
Always work your FULL NOTICE …
It may just come back and bite your Arse
Work your notice, your new employer will like it too, as they know that you won’t leave them in the lurge if you are ever going to leave them.
Congratulations on the job, 1.69 may not sound a lot, but on 50 hours a week that is over 4 grand a year.
Gonna work my notice, burning bridges and all that is not me, but today I realised how much the current job is doing my head in and can’t wait to get away.
