Subby for Maritime

So I’ve read lots of horror stories on here about going it alone but I’m never going to be happy until I’ve at least given it a shot. Thinking of buying a decent unit out write & being a subby for Maritime (who I’m currently a day driver for) & renting a trailer from them weekly but have a few questions…

  1. Self-employed or start a limited business - what’s the difference/pro’s & cons?
  2. Will I need my own O license?
  3. What’s the going rates at the moment & a rough idea on what they pay per box?

By the looks of some of these motors on the road at the moment (no names mentioned) there is clearly money left in this game, especially pulling containers. Anyone out there still at it & willing to give me some tips?

Cheers
Tom

By far the best way is to be ltd if your planning on making any money you will get to keep some of it ,also it’s easier to be ltd from the start than trying later on .
