Yes. It’s a setting in the tacho which can be changed by a service centre.

It’s bloody annoying told them in office they knew nothing about it spoke to another bloke he said it’s been like it ages it’d just remembering to flick it over when you get out

Could be worse, it could be set to default to other work every time you flick the ignition electrics on :open_mouth:

Used to have one Merc at P&H that defaulted to other work as soon as you turned the ignition on!

Not great when you are on a break and you put the ignition on to open your window.

Haha took a print out its quite funny 2 min break here 9 min there then a 20 I just split my breaks as normal and marked the breaks that I had taken

On my merc you only flick the key one click to open the window :open_mouth:

It was one of the brand new Antos models mate.

Same key fob insert thingy as the Actros. Does yours use one of those metal jagged things like a front door needs?

Thanks

Things aren’t going well in Beavers gaff. Mrs B has just come into the front room while I was taking a picture of MY helmet.

She was wondering why I want to post it on a truckers site. I thought she was concerned that I was up to no good, but it would seem that she was just offering advice.

" You will need to zoom in " was the dispensed advice. Hate that woman.

This at Haydock? I’m sure it would tick over to other work when the back door was opened as well.

Yeah Haydock mate.

Some tacho are linked to rear doors, pto’s, etc, to avoid the driver recording a break whilst working. Years ago this caught a firm I was considering transferring to out. A 2.10 hrs to the delivery point, tip (cement  ), then a 2.10 hrs drive back. The only way you could make a living out of that job, was by getting a second trip in. Drivers tipped and loaded on break. Until a new batch of wagons defaulted to ‘other work’ when the pto was engaged… :grimacing: That threw a spanner in the works.

Yes, I told the manager where to put the ‘transfer offer’. He seemed genuinely surprised that not one of the drivers took up this ‘exciting opportunity to progress within the company’
