Might not live until Xmas if he/she carries on like that…
Didn’t look too bad to me, maybe you had to be there.
Where would we be without organ donors?
every time i see that sign that says “think bike”,i think they have it the wrong way round should be “BIKE THINK”,
Why is it a stupid motorbike? Surely the rider was to blame.
What ive found with dash cams especially the cheaper end of the market is objects seem further away.ie vehicles when playing back footage!

I’ll hold my hands up to that. It should have been Stupid Motorbike Rider.
My last bike accelerated to 100kph in a little under 3 seconds, so if you were doing 56, I would be just fine pulling out in front of you with only 45 metres to spare and you would never hit me. Even an old 1970’s bike with a knackered engine could clear you in 75-80 metres, you would have to be doing 120mph to have even half a chance of hitting him.
In the Vid, the bike clears you easily, there was no need to swerve. I don’t see an issue at all with this, he pulled out in front of you with plenty of clearance.
I would go as far as saying, why the heck did you swerve? Wanted to put something on Youtube? Shame it is meaningless.
The words mountain and molehill come to mind…
Nothing to see, move along.

How was the OP supposed to know for sure that the bike was going to accelerate out of the way before he reached it
The biker rider behaved in a manner that could potentially have caused an accident, it’s true that the biker may not have been in any immediate danger himself but it’s equally true that the OP could not have known that for sure.
The motorcyclist would have had to make a decision. Do I risk pulling out in front of the big smelly lorry and hope my skill and the performance of the bike will see me through or do I wait for him to pass then overtake him later hoping that my skill and the performance of the bike will see me through.
This decision would have to be made in less than half a second. As a trucker and a biker I can see it from both sides but I do think that if this had been witnessed by a traffic cop the rider may well have had a pull and at least a lecture.

How about “Stupid Motorcyclist”?

He’d have got more than a lecture if I’d been the traffic cop. It’s impossible to see if the outside lane was clear, given that the driver was able to pull over one assumes it was; even so had a second bike, or a fast car, been coming up behind it could’ve been worse. A misfire on the bike, or a botched gearchange, and he’d have been a bumper sticker.
At the very least, a lack of consideration on the part of the biker; and as many of you know I’m one myself.
As a bike rider i think he was a prat

Yes the bike would blitz him… but In my opinion it was very cheeky what he did, I also don’t have a issue with the driver moving lanes to avoid braking or to avoid driving into the back of the bike, and I’m sure he didn’t pull out thinking he would over take the bike.
nearly there:

I agree, the onset of good weather brings them out, all the gear no idea, and the born again mob.
Its the same every year old bill have to scrape them of some A road where they think they’re at the TT 9 so far and counting in Wales this year.
You need to ride year round and have an estimate on the low side of your ability, I have a fortnight off the bike and feel dodgy some of these clowns don’t ride for months then jump on a 1000cc sports bike when they should be playing golf.
It’s not evident in the video due to quality but I did have to brake and moved over at the same time as braking would.not have been enough if he hadn’t accelerated as quickly as he did.
It’s clear he didn’t even check properly before moving out. Yes he easily out accelerated me but what if something had not gone to plan (missed gear change etc?)
I’m glad your bike is so quick Wheelnutt and if you ride like he does then please make sure you carry an organ donor card as one day it will catch up with you. Quite how you’ve made the conclusion I’d made a mountain out of a molehill is beyond me considering I hadn’t made any comments in this thread yet other than on the title of it.
I’m not saying he should of done it, all valid points above but he managed it. Granted, I’d have moved over as well as a hgv pro, you gotta ask the what ifs, he could have spun out as happens to even pro riders from time to time.
Just got his number plate - D1c ED.
