I’ve had a few runs up to Irvine over the past couple of weeks. Running up and down the A68. As our Dan has been with me the problem last Wednesday was where he was sleeping as we wouldn’t have a cabin on, by the time we were parked up.
Neither fancied fish and chips so as it was a lovely night. We thought it might be a good idea to build a fire and cook sausage sarnie’s washed down with a few cans, sat in a layby in the woods, next to the river, near Enterkinfoot.
Anyroad it was dark, by the time we’d put the tent up on the back of the wagon and lit the fire. Ended up being one of them daft late nights. Up and off for 6 we didn’t bother taking the tent down till we got back to the yard. Still the tent held up well and at least our Dan got a sleep in.
I went up on my own on Monday but it was gone 11 before I got off. I got parked up just before the turn off for Catine in a layby next to a caravan site. The old farmer laughed like hell when he saw me doing sausage, potatoes and tomatoes in my little fire, sat in the sun with a Carlsberg in one hand watching the 6 o’clock news.
Anyhow I thought I’d post a few pics
Our Dan sorting out loading
Once we had tipped we headed back south. Neither of us fancied fish and chips so we decided to stop at a shop and cook our own meal once we had parked up.
We spotted a wagon that was older than mine!
One over on the A66
Back at the yard it was time to diesel up while Dan took the tent down.
Enjoyed the bangers and spuds so much I did it again in the layby just before the turn to Catrine a few days later. Its on a bit of a slope but the legs soon sorted that and I had chance to have a wash at the caravan park.
