Personally I can’t see why you think it’s such a problem, some people do business in a different way to you for a start I’d never offer the asking price, but you did straight away. But this guy for what ever reason, Maybe as this bloke turned up first and had showed an interest he promised to hold it for him. and for him his word is his word. It’s nice to see.
I bought a truck from a dealer last year, got a deal and agreed to have it and offered him a deposit for it. The Dealer said to me a handshake is enough of a deposit and held the truck until we’d paid for it, which took about 3 weeks.
And anyway why get stressed over one truck, as Harry said there are loads of second hand truck out there.

I would have thought that someone who didn’t turn up would go to the back of the que and he’d take your money instead, as has been said theres loads of trucks on the market and unless its something specialised he’s lucky he’s got two people interested in it. Maybe theres other things he’s having to consider and his other buyer tale is just a story masking something else, have you HPI’d the truck etc.
Nothing wrong with an Actros either as long as it was made after 2003 ish, you need to ask the ones who know rather than the Scanny fannys who’ve never sat in one and listen to all the MMTM myths and hearsay thats still does the rounds based on the the early disasterous examples

I was just keen because the money and mileage were right and been on full R+M and it wasnt bloody white 
I like Merc kit, has always been cheap for parts and there are plenty of main dealers around here and when i want to out it there will always be an export demand.
My father was a cattle dealer in the 50s, 60s & 70s too. I spent many an hour with him looking at stock & he would have given the vendor one chance to have his money, been in the car & gone. It took me a long time to understand why he’d never go back. He always said “two meetings are two greetings my boy” Happy days

Maybe, but one with 450k, 06 plate, euro 4, has been on full RM contract, new tyres, big diesel tank, tipping gear,years mot and very good condition and not white £ 24.5K ?
Passed Wiltshire grain storage today and saw the truck parking up for a break, same driver who took me for a test drive, bloke never sold it, seems tossers dont only drive cars.
