Ive never understood why they think its ok to have no street lighting between midnight and 4/5 am.

How do others feel about lit motorways? I prefer un-lit, because in the dark, every light means something to me. On lit parts, the street lighting is just interference and contributes to fatiguing my eyes.I do think that roundabouts should always be lit though, if for nothing else, to make them look kind of welcoming!
I can’t think of anywhere more terrifying to break down, say with your family on board, than on a completely unlit so called smart motorway, basically if it happened in the early hours still dark and you had complete electrical failure (remember some of these modern heaps of cars the door locks will not undo without being powered, and if you have electric windows all around as well?) then you are probably all dead.
Agree with you, but I was thinking of autobahns. I am absolutely convinced that these “smart” motorways will, one day, cause the biggest crash in history

Tbh the natives in Rugby were up in arms when it first happened but now if they’re out of sync people complain if they’re on lol
I know I prefer them off but then I’ve got motion lights on my house so bright a potential threat gets a free x ray if they come anywhere near my house.
