hi can any one cofirm what i was told today that your straps and ratchets must have the blue lable on which tells you the rating and the aproved mark on was told the belgians and germans will fine you if it not still on them or is it another myth
YES any straps used have to have this blue label fitted
and intact ,also no rips or any signs of wear , Its worth
while going ,for say the 5000kn type straps more security,
Also a tip which I was given is to use old canvas hose pipe as a means along with the edge protectors to save wear and tear ,another
point get the anti skid matting as well as this improves the safety
factor, when you have finished with your straps ensure that you
store them correctly
cheers mate. i always keep me straps nice and tidy. as i work out of a factory most are loaded and strapped for us so wen thay run short in warehouse thay raid our lockers so we are left with wot thay put on load
One tip if you keep the same ratchets all the time is to lube the mechanism well, if you want to get the best out of them!!
