It’s loaded with railway’ sleepers I’ve asked can I have some straps
He said he’s not got time for this

Ask yourself what kind of arsewipe is happy to send you out with a truck full of unsecured sleepers. I sympathise with your dilemma mate - needing the dollars and all, but to be told essentially "I dont have the time or inclination to comply with the law" just doesnt cut it. Were not talking about pallets of bog rolls or potato crisps after all, and, as has been frequently pointed out on here, its YOUR pants coming down if youre unlucky enough to get pulled over. Worst case scenario - can you imagine the consequences if they were to burst through the curtains, killing someone? Doesnt bear thinking about. Suffice to say, youd be looking at a custodial sentence. Id consider notifying the powers that be of this blokes cavalier attitude to safety. He only has one set of straps?? If you tell the agency what happened on your arrival and they still dont ring you again, then stuff em - you CAN do better than them. I certainly wouldnt take that wagon out, and you`ve done exactly the right thing by refusing to do so.
well done, all too familiar mate, forget the agency they wont back you just a nice little call to vosa telling who company is, yeah it might seem im tellin sir, but as you said you need the money so someone else may take the load if put under pressure, would any of us like a member of family hurt as a result no i didnt think so, well in bud i do the same and refuse and also the agencies never back you so jib them as well
I’d be taking pictures of the load and plate of the vehicle carrying it. Then I’d have told the guy, “Either I get straps or these pictures get sent to the Traffic Commissioner.”
I bet he’d have found time to find you some straps.
