Strange convoy notts

Right chaps I’m hoping the massed anoraks can help me identify a strange convoy I saw in rural Nottinghamshire outside Mansfield six trucks in a convoy with an ■■■■■■ front and back popped out the old welbeck site in front of me each wagon appeared to have a Renault crew cab set back from the front of the chassis ala unimog with external roll cages and massive reinforced tree bars each wagon had eight massive oversized almost monster truck wheels and appeared to pivot in the middle similar to a hagglunds bv each was painted white and had what appeared to either be a monstrous engine mounted on the back or a generator each was numbered one to six they almost looked like a love child of a unimog/ alvis stalwart / hagglunds bv they sat in front of me chugging along before turning up a narrow lane and vanishing each was spotless and on a 12 plate can’t remember the full plate mind, shall I phone the men in white coats now or bow down to our new overlords ?

They sound like Seismic thumper trucks.
they are used in sets to shock the ground in the search for oil, the centre bit is a big hydraulic thumper that is lowered to the ground, and vibrates to send a shock wave through the earth.
Do not know how to post a picture, but just google images of seismic trucks.

They look like some snazzy kit surprised no ones duct taped a tipper body to one

I’ve seen these I was told they were checking potential fracking sites

Well they wont be coming to Scotland then …

Looking for oil on an old mining site. Ironic lol :grimacing:
