Strange company names

Saw a beauty today, wish I’d had me camera with me…

… cruising along the A40, presumably returning from Ireland, a Volvo wagon & drag emblazoned with VLADIMIR JUNK

My all-time favourite, which biggusdickus has just reminded me of, is a company in Basford, Nottingham called which in the early 1980’s was managed by a very affable gentleman called Mr.Balls ; the company’s name was Flashing Services Ltd. True, I swear it!

Oh yes, Mr. Junk, the IRL-CZ specialist.
What sort of beauty was that you saw? So far I have only seen their TGAs and DAFs, all in plain silver.

I’ve come across another one, MAD from Hlohovec (SK), running between Benelux and Balkan.

No, Czechs
It’s quite a big company that JipoCar, 150 vehicles and big warehouse off D1 at Jihlava.

I once heard a driver saying: “To an extent, all drivers are ■■■■■■. Travelling here and there, living in cabs, sheds, booths, huts whatever you call it… Eat from pans or even straight from cans… Pee up the wheels… And you know what? You are a very good friend of mine…”
The last sentence made me to realize he had had some beer before. But the truth he said…

It;s not quite a company name, it’s rather invention of some third party people, but I was driving a lorry today with a big sign on the side “BAT ■■■ AND KITCHEN LOGISTIC SPECIALIST”

Would of been worried if this had been a parcel delivery company…but if anybody finds what they have lost can might want to give them a call as looks like they have set up a web site and plastered their vans in the hope someone has found it…

 :astonished: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

There a cookie (virtual) in it for the first person to correcty guess what size/make of vehicle i am in…i give it 10 mins.

Willie Roadstar:
Hi All,

My favorite is ‘FUCHS LUBRICANTS’ - a german oil company that took over century oils in Stoke, running blue MAN’s at the moment, I’ll see if I can get a photo and post it.

Regards
Ant

Hi Willie Roadstar, I’ve seen Fuchs Oil too.

Here’s a link to :arrow_right: Fuchs’ UK website

The name “Fuchs” is quite a common surname in German-speaking countries, and there’s a direct tranlation to English- it means “Fox” (the animal and the surname) in both languages.

Here’s a pic of an Austrian diesel/central heating oil tanker.
