I apologise for stealing your warehouse padlock from your desk Mr Storeman at ********, Farnham, Surrey. Right under you nose.
I now feel that it was a petty over reaction, just because you were rude and obnoxious to me.
When 5pm came, or 4.40pm in your case, to start the shutdown procedure, you must of been horrified that you could not lock up.
I am sorry that this probably meant a “late” finish.
As it was open, I am going to use it to padlock another warehouse door at a different company.
Any other “getting your own back” story’s ?
English definition of “get your own back ”
to do something unpleasant to someone because they have done something unpleasant to you:
If caught stealing the padlock though, they’ll class it as theft. This starts the gross misconduct procedure, suspension follows, hearing, then sacked for theft.
Explaining away dismissal for theft at job interview is difficult, I’m sure. That’s if the application form doesn’t have the question “Have you ever been dismissed?” Followed up with “If so, what for?”

I think that you could have broken the padlock and achieved the same result, without being a thief.Trucks are heavy ,I learned this on the DCPC.you could have rolled over it .It would have been stylish to lubricate it with that special "tizer"that us gents have.
