morocco was a [zb] hole back in the day as was spain, portugal and many other countries in fact i would go so far as to say that UK is a [zb] right now full of beggers and thieves otherwise you and many other people would still be there or not thinking about getting out pal.
Not quite getting this bit, I am sat in the UK & have no plans to leave here at the moment unless you know something different
I quite like it here as I know how to avoid the beggars & thieves and can happily say its pretty good here at the moment for me anyway. I would’nt say I’ll never live abroad again I’ve lain my hat in a few places over the years but never in Marocco although I’ve done my bit over there & can honestly say along with The USSR its one of the countries I would never dream of visiting again for work or play.
Good luck to you Chap happy travels.

You sound like one of these guys that lives in Torrevieja who knows so much about Spain and the way things are done or should be done, the quicker you get a job with the marons (Moroccans) the better.
[zb] me if i sound like one you most definately own a bar mate. i think The word your looking for is MORO (moroccans) and the spaniards call us maricas. i think they might call you a boro.
i ain’t being funny but i started this topic trying to get some info from experienced truckers out there. Apart from a few who have PM me i can see where jeremy clarkson is coming from.
how many languages do you speak and is ARABIC one of them do you have a
very good private medical insurance , what is your knowledge of mechanics
of a lorry engine and all its ancillary s, have you got all your injections up todate
, its fine you saying that the docks are one if not the biggest but it is still way
behind in many options and one of them is clean water for Europeans for example
the european driver will be too expensive if he requires a wage that is the same
in the western part of Europe, What does a local driver earn I have no idea but
more than 400€ a month for normal drivers will be normal i would think, but i may be wrong
as i have never been there, why do you thing that after the long time #
when western drivers were in the majority , its now different as they are cheaper
and believe it or not in many cases better,
brit pete
Mate your still living in the dark ages man. infact you know what people lets close this because you ain’t got a clue about what your on about. Thanks again for the pm’s with all the helpful advise.
for brit petes info you don’t need any jabs for going over there. the water is perfectly fine, assistance mondial operate out there, MAN, IVECO, MERCEDES etc all have garages and agents out there.i speak english, french, spanish and basic moroccan( learnt when i spent 2 years out there working in the phosphate mines). i’m a londoner born and bred.
Mate all i’m after is bread thats it i ain’t looking to become rich i just want a steady income to buy me ■■■■ and beer. i wish it could be done in spain but spain is [zb]. morocco ain’t.
Re the earnings i’ll get back to you when i get a job.
Ring John Lucy at Davies Turner in MIFT & see if any of his many subcontractors need a jockey. Every man & his dog want to drive a truck in Morocco its there way of seeing the promised land & I can honestly say in my many many trips down there I have never seen a non Moroccan driving a truck thats registered in MA. I really wish you well on your quest.

They’res a firm from near Heathrow called Lays I think they have a few trucks or did do, they used to do Morocco for the film industry which is fairly bouyant down there, they had loads of work from the UK to MA when they filmed Black Hawk Down in Rabat. I did a couple of loads for that film too.
Fly sheet
lets get this right you wish to drive and work from MOROCCO
THIS means that you may be sent else where in the continent of AFRICA
if so try reading this link
AND this ONE
there are lots more sites which show you what is free to catch ,
sorry me i would make my arm a pin cushion and still pray that
i remain free, just to show you over here in Germany there offer
a injection for ticks because we have them over here in various parts of the country and
it acts just like meningitis, but is worse if not treated,
I had a few of those inoculations but caught or contracted salmonella in Fes after eating chicken one evening, I always washed/cleaned my teeth etc in tap water but tended not to guzzle it if possible, I did like that mint tea they brewed though & in fairness as a lorry driver we did tend to bump into the wrong crowd whilst loading etc, which probably clouds your judgement of the locals.
Where is all this freight thats coming into the new port destined for? Surely its going to be that continent & not europe.
I’ve heard off a friend whose still on the job that getting in & out of said new port is a nightmare but suspect its early days for it. Just hope its staffed better than the old port which was a ■■■■■■■ nightmare to get in & cleared etc. Was very handy for the souk to get some bits & bobs though.

Believe me on Madrid graffiti they are called Marons maybe not on the Costa del Ingles

Marons is a term directed at brown people normally from south america. Moro is directed at moroccans it derives from the word moor. Call a moroccan a moro they will probably pull out their axes and kill ya.
first of all in response to your last question to me i came back empty after tipping in the port because the booze was obviously bonded and was for a hotel chain, just came out with full diesel tanks
secondly i am lucky and you could be too if you found a job in spain with a contract, it’s not impossible just don’t expect good pay at the start
to your orignal post maybe you could try dreier or meyer & mayer, regulars on north africa.
finally if you’re going to look in algeciras try Altransa big company with fridges or lots of box jockeys on the containers, not great money but home most nights. the furthest they go is madrid!!

Clearly absolutely nothing!! However, (& I speak as a rugby coach who’s son plays both games) why do football coaches allow / encourage young players to constantly attempt ‘Ronaldo’ style trickery when on so many occasions all they succeed in doing is giving the ball to the oposition when their trick back heel goes wrong??
Back on the subject. I know a Davis Turner subbie who runs to Morroco, I’ll ask him next week if he knows anyone on that job looking for a ‘jockey’.
Ross.
cheers bigr250 really appreciated.
i posted the vid because it makes me happy every time i see a kid with talent. That kid certainly has it, mind you all his tricks he pulled off well don’t you think.
