Stopped in Slough, 18 pts and still on the road!

Stop check Slough. No drivers records or side markers and on a mobile phone. Driver had 18 points already!

Not much holding his load on either!

And the blade on that dozer is just about neck height, poking out about 2ft…

There comes a point when the authorities need to accept that someone’s taking the ■■■■. As I recall, the record for most points and still driving is over 30!

So what’s he getting today? A 100 pound fine and another 3/6 points? Something tells me it’s water off a ducks back to this geezer

Assuming this driver has insurance, is it likely the insurance company doesn’t know how many points this person has on their licence. As I’m struggling to see why any insurance company is going to underwrite this driver.

Get stopped with 4 bald tyres = 3 points each x 4 = 12 points but only 3 of those are used for totting up purposes because all the points were gained for the same incident

Do that 3 times and you have a driver with 36 points but only 9 of which count for totting up

Thanks Rog, I had no idea that the total points on a licence could be different from those used for totting up. I’m a good boy ya see! :stuck_out_tongue:

British law making at its finest. I dont understand why, when writing that particular piece of law making, they actually came up with the “same incident points cant be added up” rule.
Who thinks of that? And worse still, who thinks its a good idea and goes “yes, lets make that the law” rather than pelting the guy who brought it up with scrunched up bits of paper and pens?

The company probably had no choice but to use him, due to the driver shortage I keep on hearing about…

It could however be worse, I read the name of the thread and thought it said 18 pints and still on the road.

The coment about 40 tonne and the rest ,well I think 40 tonne is about right ,the dozer will be about 19 ,the trailer 12 ,the unit ■■ 9 tonne ■■

Silly question but did it have a movement order?

Hahahahaha 2ft that’s narrow for a dozer blade overhang on the nearside. I always wonder why drivers including HGVs charge at them in narrow spaces as those blades just ain’t gonna relent, you’ll lose every time.

Fibreglass just won’t protect you even though you might feel big and poweful.

If he had a fixed blade not a lot he could do. Otherwise if he had an adjustable blade then he did like most and pushed it all to the near side, so all the head on suicidal ones on the road can carry on to their next victim safely without touching you and the load.

Trouble is then people try and push you back to the nearside of the road when going past pedestrians and street furniture even though you might be on the white line, as they think you’re being greedy and they think they’re being clever trying to be territorial.

Hauling for Killoughery = Not suprised by this at all. 18 is just a minor indiscretion to these subbies. Quelle suprise the tacho offenses were guaranteed unfortunately. What a sad state of affairs.

One chain possibly a 10mm holding at the back…depending on steel grade and rating may only be holding half the load back. I always see this ■■■■ and shake my head in dismay…we wonder why we get pulled so often to be looked at in this field.

Trouble is if he’d ■■■■■■ up you know that load ain’t going into the back of his cab (where it should go for such a ■■■■ effort and to teach him a valuable lesson) but off the side into something or someone else…yet he’ll still be walking at the end of it.

Practically self regulated now Muckaway. You tell them you’ve done all the necessary checks send an email they grant permission and times accordingly. They seem to just check routes for closures roadworks/events from my view.

its has a straight blade with tilt , not a PAT blade
