They have front markers visible when turning, and trailer indicator warning light on the dash next to the truck warning light on most trucks.
More likely Golf driver said, āim not trying to get him in trouble, but that truck seems to have lighting probs on the trailer, and I didnāt want to try to stop him at this time of night to tell himā
I suppose a positive way of looking at it is to view the positives. The copper told you about it and was nice. Couldāve been stuck at some lights and someone plows into your trailer. Sounds like the copper did you a good turn and helped you. Sounds like the ideal outcome.

Sounds like the car driver and plod did you a favour in the best way they could at that time of the morning, get over yourself.
Followed a rig from Hamilton down to Annandale services on the 74 a few weeks ago, driver was totally oblivious to his trailer lights not working in spite of others trying to get the message to him.

No offence intended, but thatās clichĆĀ©d language of the past, mate - though I understand your point of being chuffed-off.
When Blair & his successor Brown told us unopposed how great the UK was as a Diverse Society - designed to hugely assist their covert political invitation for the UK to be Labour-made into a haven for too many rag-arsed herberts on the planet, the emergent reality now surely means that nothing is (or will likely ever be again) common - other than ādiversityā itself - and that within every environment in which we move, drive, think or live, etc.
Only saying, but itās arguably borne out by plod (who represent Governmental authority - with whom the OP may have a problem?) being replaced by faceless āagenciesā - which in itself draws diverse opinion amongst us.
Itās all part of a ādivide & ruleā strategy being craftily massaged into UK society in order that pro-federal forces can wreak nastiness to control us citizens unopposed (eg., we are no longer UK subjects) whilst we squabble at folk whose superfluous mind-sets & values, etc donāt match our own

Thankfully they canāt revoke my licence for doing sweet fa, I worry about driving my own vehicle, not others, thatās their responsibility & their problem-I have my own to deal withā¦ Iād rather police dealt with other crimes occurring in societyā¦

I would be careful what you wish for as missing the irony in pimpdaddys post might suggest a candidate for a 4th license to be revoked. 
i find it does you good to get stopped by plod now and then . for ages after i am more aware of my speed and other stuff that i could get done for
