Stonridge tacho defaulting to rest

Just tried it after reading the useranual and you can indeed change the default activity for key on and key off but you need a company card to do it.

Just done it on one of our new trucks with a stonridge tacho.

I find it very irritating having to keep changing to other work every time you turn the key on or off.

As do many others at our place.

Company card in
Settings
Parameters
Key on
Key off
Set the activity by scrolling though the pictograms until you have selected rest
Save changes and be happy.

Useful tip Simcor, thank you. Can you set it to stay on whatever the selected mode was when you pulled up?

My Scania doesn’t change with ignition

About a month ago, I had a Renault Premium (08-plate with 4-over-4, plus splitter) 26-tonner on a steel job that kept defaulting to rest everytime I turned the ignition off. So, everytime I pulled up at a job, I had to remember to change tacho modes manually to cross hammers.

You can choose any activity either when the key is turned on or off. So you could have it set to break when switched off or poa or other work when turned on. I’ve set them both to other work as most of the time we are driving or other work so only need changing to break now.

It depends on how the tacho was set up by whoever was doing the PDI check.

I believe as had been said Siemens/VDO have to be set using a workshop card by the dealer.

But the stonridge new version in this deffo allows the menu setting using the company download card to see and change the menu. I did read the user manual so when I got in it today got the company card and followed the instructions to sort it.

It will default to whatever mode it was set to when you turn the ignition on or off. In this case it was set to go to break on both key on or key off which is doubly irritating.

Bugger just turned me ignition on and forgot I’d set it to default to other work so only had 41 mins break on the bay. So now sat outside having half an hour.

What a PITA. Couldn’t see any way to change it to no activity when turned on but don’t want it going to break when turned on either.

Will have to have another look when I get chance with the company card next time.

Still better than break whatever you do with the ignition though.

I’m glad mine doesn’t change no matter what I do with the ignition

You want no change, that way when key is on/off the tacho doesn’t change. It stays on what the driver has selected… or they move them it goes to drive, then other work when you stop, then you choose amode which it will stay on.weather or not key is turned whilst stationary.

All the trucks in my new job also automatically default to break everytime you turn off the ignition. I’m getting a bit worried that the TM may become suspicious of the excessive breaks on my downloads. This is because I’m used to a tacho that doesn’t change modes, no matter what you do with the ignition.
