Stolen yard shunter

Weds afternnon around 15.15 15.30 3 gentlemen came into our yard at knottingley and made off in our yard bomber two stopped in the car while one started the unit and made is gettaway our retired boss was coming out of morrisons when he saw the unit going up the weeland road followed by a cloud of smoke, he followed the unit into what is known as warwick est he tryd to head them of at a turning and was near as nearly rammed out of the way they then made there gettaway, they must be local because they knew where they were going. The veh in question is a 1984/5 scania 112M Reg B889 VUA painted in C.T Transport (castleford ) LTD colours( burgandy ) its more than likly gone far away it was a shunter it was in quite good nick it would have restored it was all origanal. And keep your eyes peeled :angry: :angry: :angry:

That’s what I thought t first, not very inconspicuous chugging up the road in a bright orange turburg lol!!

Well mate it was bought as new and was earning a wage uptill a few years ago.
The model is a 112m the baby one.
I could have sold it a dozen times a more people wanting it for a project.

Your retired boss saw and followed the unit. I’m assuming he was driving a car. Why didn’t he just follow it discreetly whilst phoning the police? That would seem to be the sensible option. :unamused:

Well mate your right but he was and still is quite head strong i think it was a panic thing.

No mate it was just are old yard bomber.

Will keep an eye out for it, I’ve seen it a time or two (I heard it before I saw it though!) hope the lorry gets back to you lot soon.
