STOLEN VOLVO

ive just taken this from HGV drivers forum on facebook… hope our mods dont mind if it helps to find the motor…

stolen volvo fh12 with reed boardall livery on it last seen heading north on A19 teeside area

REG YK12 GJE

taken from dealers… apparently someone just walked in and asked for it…

keep your eyes open…

That’lll be straight into being cut up or a boat to the middle east imo, hope it’s found though.

And being a pedantic bar steward, it’ll be an FH13 not a 12.

I’ve always found this strange with picking a truck up from a dealers. In my experience, you go into the reception and say to them that you are into pick up a truck for Joe Bloggs Transport. I’ve never once been asked to provide any form of ID to prove who I am. I’ve always been handed the keys without any questions asked. Its really that easy to take a truck from a dealer IMO.

and the easy way to sort that problem would be for all dealers , (maybe even car dealers)to insist on a four digit pin number (just like your bank card) , generated for each jobsheet… then when a driver goes to collect a vehicle , his company will be supplied with that number each time a vehicle is ready… , no number, no chance…

Good idea

engine will be already out of it and sold on ? I had a couple of travellers a couple of years ago asking me in a services to sell them the truck I was sat in and when I told them I didn’t own the truck they just said not to worry about it they only wanted the engine and the cab would be scrapped and gone in an hour , I must admit I did think about it for a minute lol… these things are not just done by chance somebody has to know the garages routine and that the truck was ready to be picked up if I was the cop looking into this I would be looking at employees from transport company and garage …

anyone want to buy a Scania :grimacing:

My Dad worked for a truck dealer near Lincoln which had a hospital just up the road. A bloke came in one day and asked for the keys to a lorry parked in the compound. he went out with the keys, but luckily someone noticed he was wearing slippers…

Chatting with one of their drivers today he said 3 were taken but 2 have been recovered, keys were under the header tank looks like it will cost Volvo a bob or two

I thought RB done all their vehicle maintenance on site??

It’ll be the dealer more out of pocket than Volvo themselves, at least the dealer can get good discount on the replacement unit
