Very distinctive, white and metallic green and on of only two in this livery (the other is a R580 anyway). Stolen from a layby on the A22 in Surrey last night and was last seen on the A14 nr Bury St Edmonds, inevitably heading for Ipswich/Felixstowe.
No airkit, single Eminox exhaust, large tanks, 6x2 twinsteer and Classic trim. Lightbar on the roof with angel eye/spots and beacons, strobes on the rear of the cab. Stolen with a King G44 lowloader in matching green.
Owner is MP & KM Golding (roadreclamation.co.uk) of Cheddar in Somerset. It would be great to get this old girl back home, she’s a trusty old thing and a pleasure to drive, I can vouch for that!!
If anyone has seen it or see’s it over the water, in a yard, trashed somewhere Please get in touch.

There was a chap who had a hookloader stolen which was found a week or two later so I’m keeping my hopes up for them. I’m aware of what is likely to happen to kit like this, just hoping it doesn’t! She’s been round the clock and all over Eu as an ex Richard Long motor, still a lovely thing to drive.
NewLad:
Amazing how some people have the ■■■■■■■■ to steal something so big and obvious, especially with anpr and the like on all major routes.
Hope you get it back!
Since its so obvious I reckon its already sat in a chopshop in bits.
Don’t be silly that’ll be in a box on the boat …
I cant understand why when company’s spend so much on kit they don’t have it tracked.
or am I being naive

It’s probably parked somewhere in this country still. When I worked recovery we had a truck stolen, the tracker put it in a housing estate in Pontefract so we let the old bill know and went up to collect it. Speaking to the cop there he said what they do if they can’t find the tracker to rip it out they park it somewhere that they can keep an eye on it to see if the owner/law turns up. If after a couple of days nobody has come for it they figure that it’s tracker- less and do whatever they intend to do with it.
My deepest sympathy to you over this problem been there myself 143/470 about 20 years ago.
Police totally useless more concerned that someone told them I would pay out to have the
thieves sorted.Truck was reported in Wembley, bring guns I was told, rang Police oh! we
don’t do guns on a Sunday,Monday I was told they were wandering around yard unit had
been in and tripped over deflector kit.Seems the gang were known, extremely violent but
the unit had been containerised,NO they dont cut them up and shipped I believe to
Nigeria. The insurance company wanted to offer one price I demanded another, they gave
up and paid out 12 months later exactly what I wanted plus costs. And Scania is the
favourite make to steal always has been but how the hell do they get away with it
amazes me,we live on a tiny island, but you look at how easy it is to enter this country
and moving a unit is not really a problem.truly sorry for your problem it did my head in
for a while. But if I ever found out who was involved, even today.
There is someone on Facebook just had his scania stolen this week to. It’s horrible, we had all our 4 units stolen about ten year ago we did get units back but no trailers. Makes you wonder how something so big goes missing never to be seen.
How the hell do you hide something that big ■■? always beats me what ppl will steal next… motorbikes, cars, caravans and plant equipment but a bloody artic … the mind boggles
Went past that Scania parked up in the lay by on the A22 at Godstone last Thursday afternoon, it was still there this Monday evening. Didn’t look like it had moved.
like I said earlier about trackers fitted i’m also surprised that someone hasn’t come up with a device that shuts the ECU down making the whole truck US… surely this could be retro fitted at the factory that would make it even cheaper to fit
