Stolen Scania 113 380 most probably in Greece (we think)

Good evening everyone,

I am enlisting your help, if possible to try and locate a stolen (to order we presume) Scania 113 380 4x2 tractor unit which was taken from Braintree Essex about one and a half years ago, and is suspected as being in Greece.

The particular unit, registed J831 PFH in the UK, is left hand drive, and has a toplne stremline cab, being originally dutch, it was one of the very first Scania streamliner cabs and is very distinguishable by its superlarge 1800 ltr fuel tanks which are of the square alloy type.

The vehicle was white when in the UK, and was in the colours of Watts Haulage of Royston , Hertfordshire which is whom we purchased it from.

Essex Police have been unable to locate the vehicle and is has to our knowledge not been taxed under this registration number but the other firm in the yard at Braintree Essex where it was taken from had very close contacts with Athens and it was mooted that the vehicle could be sold to the Greeks if we wanted.

We chose not to, and then the vehicle very mysteriously went missing a few weeks later.

It would of been too good to scrap, although i could not guarantee this, but am pretty sure that it headed to Greece.

Could any of you regulars on the Greek/Italien run keep a look out for this vehicle, as it is still the subject of a police file, and if any of you have any ideas if i could locate it then i would very pleased to hear from you at any time.

I look forward to your assistance, and in the meantime, keep trucking and keep safe.

Best Regards,

Richard.

the yard at Braintree Essex .

If this is the yard I’m thinking of (by the MacDonalds roundabout??), then we used to call this place “Borassic Park”

Vince

Vince,

You have got in one !!!

Any ideas■■?

richard

When I worked for Kepstowe Freight Services, a few of our subbies used to run out of Borassic Park, and Kepstowe sometimes stored trailers there, but I haven’t been there since about 1998 so I can’t really help. Have you got a photo of the truck? Otherwise, I suggest you ask this question at Intersped at Belvedere, as they still run to Greece.

Vince

Thanks Vince,

very helpful,

still trying to locate a picture of the truck.

but as mentioned was a bit unique, although i have seen a few 4 x 2 113s with the big tanks.

A couple of extra distinguishing marksare:

i had the word England on the sunvisor and the union jack and the cross of st george on either side, although obviously could of been painted by now.

a small piece of the wind deflector missing on the drivers side (lhd)

the cab had blue and red stripes around it. Hope someone can help!!

To anybody trying to assist, the badge on the front (380) was missing as well.

Silly little things, but in my own mind things that probably may not have been replaced as to some it would just be a good old workhorse!!

I appreciate the truck was not new, but to us it was part of a project to make A1, but got pinched before we could get there!!!

Thanks

Richard.
