stockpile

Conor:

the maoster:
Toilet rolls, definitely toilet rolls! Well the sheep seem to think that they are the single most important item to stockpile for some reason.

I actually found out the reason for this. It would seem the Facebook retards saw a post widely shared by other Facebook mongs that all the tubes in toilet rolls are only made in China and that because of Covid 19 there’ll be a shortage of them and “Coronavirus can get into the toilet roll tubes” so there’ll be a shortage of bog roll. I kid you not, dumbassses on Facebook really believe it.

I thought it was a obsessive avoidance of a certain French fabric?
Prototype Clothing - if you will.

That would be a “Toile Troll” I believe, so how much of this story of “shortages of certain paper products” been corrupted Chinese-Whispers Style (Ahem!) from the original message?

Keep Balm, and carry one.

Vaseline Drums.jpg

Now that the bottom has dropped out of the Oil Market - things will have to drop a lot further before you are “touching cloth”, or does that all wrap around again into Toile Trolling all over? :unamused:

Don’t believe the hype.
Now is the time for cheap holidays.

…Alas, that’s what didn’t happen after 9/11 - and the main reason I have not been on an aircraft since.

I wanted and expected the bottom to drop out of air fares - but it didn’t happen.

I consider air fares WAY too expensive for the risk premium already built in over the terror threat these last two years…

FFS one would have thought that you can get two weeks in Rome for a pony right now - but no. Holidays - just get taken off the market instead.

SO… We have families that have booked and fully paid for a holiday to say, Italy…
We have the tour operator - going ■■■■ up.
We have the airline - going ■■■■ up…

So riddle me this: Where did the f—ng money all go to■■?

Wouldn’t worry too greatly on that Winseer, what’s the chance you’d find yourself on a remote controlled drone aircraft? :open_mouth:

Optimum:
Seriously.

Stop panicking, posting ■■■■, and get on with your life.

The trouble with this virus is that it is NOT like the flu virus.
Many people won’t have any major symptoms or will just suffer from a mild cough, shortness of breath and a raised temperature. No sore throat, fatigue, aches, etc. It can therefore be passed on without people knowing and eventually reach someone with an existing medical/ respiratory condition with often critical results.

Having said that,I haven’t changed what I do. Half my life is spent getting to work or working and another third is sleeping…

I posted this topic because I suspect that HGV drivers are well placed to see in advance if there are any threats to supplies. But fortunately everything seems to be running smoothly at the moment. I suspect that the big falls in stock markets are a result of the inability to value uncertainty. I would take a small gamble and buy at the moment.

The reason bum fodder is in such demand, is one person sneezes, causing five hundred people to crap!

Thanks for your replies. Very reassuring.

My Mrs has caught the bug…not the Cornavirus bug btw, , the ‘‘I believe the Media hype’’ bug. :unamused:
Normally we have a 10 day holiday sorted for next month, but she’s a bit reluctant to go abroad. :unamused:
Now if it was me, getting isolated and contained in your hotel for another all inclusive week or fortnight’s extension after the 10 days, sounds ok…, I don’t mind sitting in the bar with a mask on  , but if she ain’t going to enjoy it, so be it…a few days at home in the locals watching the football sounds fine. :sunglasses:

No Footie to watch now…or F1, TruckNet will be busy

I must admit that my freezer is looking about as full as it has done in years. However that is probably just taking it up to a level that many would have it anyway.

I’m not bothering any stockpiling , I have cardio vascular disease , one lung ( cancer )and the other lung has copd , if I get it I’ll be too dead to worry , won’t be much grub for the wake then .

If you think there’s a shortage of toilet paper now, wait till they close the schools for two weeks, and there’s three million teenage boys sat at home with nothing to do

Well UK is going for herd immunity approach.
Seems the most sensible option. As the virus is too infective to stop without dracuain measures. Even then we would only be safe as long as we kept our borders shut.

Apparently 70 % of the population will need to be infected for the population as a whole to get immunity.

This approach is actually quite clever as it spreads the infection rates out over longer time reducing the burden on the NHS.

There is a risk with this approach as the virus may keep mutating. But what Italy is doing is not practical. Soon as they remove the lockdown the virus will thrive again.

People need to accept that the virus is here and is staying. The opportunity to contain it in my opinion has long past. Especially due to the global economy.

Well, if we refuse to shut down our manufacturing and leisure industry, then the survivors will have a better economy afterwards. Those reliant on the NHS instead of private health care, really only have themselves to blame, for not taking advantage of our forward thinking entrepreneurial country.
Herd immunity comes when the majority of the population (80%-ish) become immune. This achieved through vaccination, or previous Infection. There is currently no vaccination against Covid 19, and one isn’t likely soon.
.
The Gov say they are acting on expert advice. Some advisors will be seeking to keep everywhere open to keep financial situation buoyant. Some will want a close down to slow infection rates, so our struggling under resourced medics can cope.
Some experts think an early lock down will result in selfish, know-it-all people getting bored and breaking it. Wonder how they got that idea?
There are experts advising, but the choices are made by politicians. Our leading politician is…Well…
.
.
Edit. To spell it out, herd immunity will come after we are all infected. Some plan.

Would these be the same experts who think they are sure about global warming?

Just stay in your homes and await orderly disposal.
