Stobbies Trucks Planes & Trains

Hi you folks out there. I have no idea as to whether any of you watched last nights episode.
I have to admit that it is a long time since I retired from driving big stuff, ie. Buses, Trucks and Coaches.
My question is this, How can a Driver travel from Stoke-on-Trent to Bridgewater, only to find that after overnighting outside his Tipping point, on carrying out his Vehicle checks, the following Morning, he finds a relatively badly cut ( putting it mildly ) Trailer Tyre, down to the steel reinforcement.
This obviously required a delay while a new Wheel/Tyre was fitted.
Is it possible therefore, to travel From Stoke to Bridgewater on an “iffy tyre”, or, as I suspect, this was staged in an attempt to make this Programme more watchable, or, did the said Driver not carry out his vehicle checks before leaving Stoke.

If you have not seen the original Transmission, please attempt to catch it over this coming Weekend.

Regards
Kev.
