stobarts widnes

Argos (Magna)induction to Axor went a bit like this

be careful lifting the flap cos theres only 1 strut
and this step sticks out a bit be careful not to knock it
off but if you do there fairly cheap as long as you dont
do too many

hi i just did an assessment in one of these what’s wrong with them ? i thought they were ok but i don’t have a great deal of experience ,the trainer said the mercs were going elsewhere after 6 months i think ,i was like driving a private car compared to some of the sheds i have had to drive ,

I guess you haven’t driven a ‘proper’ truck yet… They are just the worst thing I’ve driven for the worst company you could ever work for, the majority of recent fatal accidents I’ve seen have involved an axor & the worst one was on the M1, poor driver didn’t stand a chance! Driving ‘safer’ motors (to me) also ensures a higher chance of me getting home in 1 piece…

Lets get it right now…49.5 mph!!! Remember,we`re paid by the hour!!!

Indeed we are paid by the hour but to some of us time is more precious than anything, some of us have families to go back home to so if driving @56mph+ all day means I finish work even an hour earlier each day then that’s precious time I could be spending with them.

Excellent working truck the Axor, well suited to delivery work unless fitted with satan’s gearbox (which ruins every bloody vehicle its fitted too bar Volvo who got it right), whats everyone got against Axors?..not bling enough?..do grow up, we drive trucks not badges.

Should have windows all round, no trouble getting in those tight blind side high street shops back doors…

I believe that a proper driver can get any motor anywhere, I’m sure many of us have delivered to the worst of places & still managed without windows all round-now I understand why they say there’s drivers then there’s screwdrivers…lol

i might not have driven a lot of trucks but i don’t think you have had a really bad company to work for ? if you think stobarts a the worst ,i once worked for a company that the boss would come to my house if I never answered the phone, and blow his horn till i came out then after that i would get all the ■■■■ jobs going and that’s if i was lucky i had a mortgage and two kids to keep and there were no jobs to be had so don’t say stobarts are the worst company I could work for because there are worse out there believe me

Don’t take any notice of the knockers Rab! They (Stobbies) might not pay the best! But you ALWAYS get PAID! Get your 2 years in on there! You’ll be surprised how respected they are in the Industry when you move on!

@ rabf1234 I never mentioned stobart as being a bad outfit to work for, I wouldn’t know because I’ve never worked for them. I meant that the worst companies I’ve ever worked for coincidentally used axors…
Sounds like a horrendous boss you once had there, thankfully youve moved on…

Axor the worst truck it’s hardly an Atkinson borderer is it. I’ve only had a quick drive of an axor tipper and it was ok. Yes it ain’t a Renault magnum or a v8 scania but for its job it’s ok.
I wouldn’t say it particulary unsafe either. I presume trucks have to be crash tested like cars and I couldn’t see any truck builder letting a dangerous vehicle be sold in the litigation culture we live in. Any truck on the market is going to end up in a mess if it runs in to another at 50 mph as the majority of the front panels are plastic and there’s no crumple zone like you would have with a bonnet.

Axors do look a pile though! Volvo have the best brakes by miles even secondary or retarder is untouchable! :sunglasses: Crap cab though! The NEW one should be interesting!

I’ll put money you’ve got more than 230bhp, so I know which I’d rather drive - yep, still moaning about it
