Stobarts to be the sponsor of Super League?

It’s currently being rumoured that Eddie Stobarts could take over from Engage Mutual as the title Super League sponsor starting next season.

Stobart Group is the UK leader in multimodal transport and logistics solutions. It is one of the most recognised and strongest brands in Britain, best known for its iconic Eddie Stobart trucks. Today, Eddie Stobart is the name behind a road haulage fleet of some 2,250 trucks and over seven million square feet of cutting-edge warehousing facilities. By size, Eddie Stobart has the best vehicle utilisation in the industry, helping to maximise efficiency and environmental benefits.

Stobart Group employs over 5,000 people in 40 different locations, offering multimodal logistics solutions to customers across Europe through rail, ports, airports, estates, infrastructure, civil engineering and transport & distribution businesses. The Group is fast developing these divisions into industry leaders, and by developing assets such as London Southend Airport, Carlisle Lake District Airport and Mersey Multimodal Gateway in Widnes, is creating new business for the Group’s core transport and logistics operations.

Stobart Group is also the official partner of Widnes Vikings RLFC, as part of its support the Group has naming rights to the stadium and shirt sponsorship. With Widnes securing a Super League license for next season, Stobarts are ideally placed to become the title sponsor.

This is currently just speculation but with a few sources all pointing to the same thing, it could well lead to something more official. An official announcement is expected within the next month or so.

They still spend a few bob(millions) on there world rally team, backing a couple of journey men drivers and one future star in Mats Oldsberg.
Also some backing to a couple of riders in BSB all be it small.

Don’t forget the horses,CUFC,etc.a fine example of a national firm putting something back into the local communities where they operate

Imagine how much the drivers would be on if Stobbie didnt spend his dosh on long legged donkeys and crap football teams, ady1 and his band of merry elves would be able to work 40 hours instead of 3million and still have the same amount of £££ in the bank each week.
