Stobart

I see Rikki’s post has been blocked due to rumour prevention. I notice Stob’s share price has jumped to 148

See Rikki is right, what’s written on here is taken very seriously by the stock markets and investment banks.

Well that would explain the state of the banking system

But you would be surprised just who does read here, and sometimes request obvious drivel is removed :bulb:

Yea I agree, I think many of us have walked into a major investments banks directors meeting held in an RDC waiting room, I would of thought they would have chosen somewhere more luxurious and private, but apparently many of them also have a part time job as a truck driver or are just helping a mate out.

I hoe they don’t take the request of obvious drivel removal to far or most of my post would get deleted, along with many others on here.

RDC waiting room -yes it is Vosa,MP,Scotland Yard and more specialist meeting room.

I thought RDC waiting rooms were reserved for ex SAS/Royal Marines?

Blimey I’m surprised someone there was so bothered about drivers spouting obvious ■■■■■■■■ to complain about it, not to mention the fact that he was proved wrong within about 2 posts.

There’s pretty much no touching them now I’d say anyway.

I didn’t say Stobarts had complained
Just that folks would be surprised who does actually monitor these forums- and the rules apply to threads about all companies - threads about Stobarts are not exempt

I believe the various interest groups can book RDC waiting rooms through a centralised booking agency, they also make sure that the correct drivers are delivering to the correct RDC at the correct time.
It would be a major problem if the chairman of lloyds bank missed his meeting because he was sent to Tesco instead of Sainsburys with his 26 pallets of cat food and obviously the same goes for soldier x if he misses a vital planning meeting of a black ops.

Ok so, I still can’t believe how much profit they make considering what they charge for haulage…

I remember back in 08/09 they had really good profits due to the Brawn GP contract they had. do they still have the contract even though it’s now Mercedes ■■

I knew ‘Rikki’ had an agenda…

Yes and they also do the transport and I believe supply the tyre fitters for Pirelli.

I’ve seen a lot of their F1 trucks lately pulling tesco trailers , I wonder when they transport the gear and how many they will have assigned to the job ?

They take the gear to the European circuits so mostly summer and maybe a bit of air freight. But at the moment everything is out on fly away races, India last week Abu Dhabi this week and then US and Brazil.

Suppose it makes sense ,come on the iceman

THe share price might have risen because the market is short of stock… THat is, investment bankers are on the whole, running net-short positions (information available from “commitments of traders reports”) which effectively means in laymans terms that the market has been betting on Stobart’s demise for months.

If something has happened that prevents that demise from happening (it need not be higher profits, etc) then some banks close out their short positions by buying back the shares they owe the market, which exaggerates the share price gain, and encourages others to close out their short positions (“short squeeze”) as well.

The overall “news” that’s triggered it all off could be as little as “Stobarts secures a new line of credit”… That’s all it takes.

Trade the rumour, close out the fact.

Thanks for the easily understandable explanation Mr. Gekko!

Where are they going to find time to read what there drivers say on here, there noses are glued to the screens in offices watching there drivers 24/7 :unamused: :unamused:
