Good job they’re TUPEing over or else they’d be in for a pay cut…

Still have no idea how Stobarts manage to pay peanuts yet have drivers lap it up :unamused:

■■■■ Stobarts

Simple they employ drivers like dozy :open_mouth:

In a few months PepsiCo will regret not having made a quick call to Tesco and Britvic to ask for their opinions on Stobrat’s “high levels of customer service” before signing on the dotted line.

“high level of customer service…”

The bean counters do their bean counting and choices are made.
If bad service (in our eyes) results in losses that’s noted. If those losses are less than savings through a cheap contract it’s clear what’s gonna happen.
We tend to notice the ■■■■-ups but ignore the vast majority of smooth deliveries. Dozy’s Friday runs are better reading than some other “went to work, no problems, got home on time” threads.

Britvic contract ready 4 time changeover between Wincanton and Stobart. Before last year’s Stobart had contract with Wincanton to delivery Britwic. Now they have contract with Britvic .Stobart now can easy make penalty for Wincanton if load not ready or damaged or not correct loaded.

Andrejs is hitting the nail on the head, Stobarts can do the job cheaper because of their ability to get backloads. Tip the Britvic load then run into an Amazon/Tesco/P&G/Unilever/Coke/Argos/you name it DC nearby with Stobart stand trailers on site for an easy back load. They will be using Britvic as easy backloads for other contracts to. This is Stobarts strength & unfortunatly it’s difficult to compete with.

This is true rob22888, however poor service and not enough drivers and tackle will see the same thing happen(lose contract) again and again and again until either stobbies learn to run it right(unlikely) or someone else comes along with enough drivers and tackle.

why not. When I was worked for Wincanton that they run back back empty from Scotland to Magna park or South West and more.More return load that more cheap to company, customer, suppliers.

gravesend - rugby empty today :exclamation: , yea 99.9% of companies would struggle to compete with that

It’s easy - you make a decision and say to the shareholders “look how much money we saved”. It takes say 6 months for the [fb] to hit the fan by which time you’ve moved within the company and the people in upper management who are supposed to keep tabs on “your performance” don’t care as they were doing exactly the same thing when they were in your position.

Only people who kindof get shafted at the shareholders (eg: private pensions) and the people trying to make this work at the coalface who are tearing their hair out, although they’ve probably quit by this point.

Of course you still collect your performance bonus before it hits the fan!

Every singly company do this.Every single people want buy more and more cheap dtuff, holiday but want better services.Everyone want get parcel next day and hate postman for later delivery but not care how gard he work.

Spotted my first Stobbie driver coming into Peterlee this week.

In a Stobarts uniform but driving the Walkers truck made me look twice…

Wonder if they’ll be ‘designated’ Walkers drivers (regarding back loads here)…

Or will they just run back empty like the way it was / is…?

Portsmouth - rugby empty !!!
