Stobart training scheme

Plus as you earn £500-£800 per week then working for just 7 weeks has paid for the training so the cost benefit exercise is a no brainer…

:open_mouth:

Yes you can GROSS those figures, but boy will you probably have to put in the hours…
(Just saying that to ensure Newbie’s don’t think the roads of truck driving are paved with gold mate!)

They are not!

Think that’s what he means mate.

Ltd company pays for your training, creating an expenditure of c.£4k. Then the company takes income of £500 a week and in 8 weeks the company has turned over £4k, but made £0 profit.

That doesn’t seem to include paying himself though, which will come out of the company income.

Unless of course, you pay the £4k personally and the company makes a provision for the £4k.

Then as the company takes the income of his wages, and pays it out to him, in 8 weeks the company has discharged the £4k provision. Turned over £4k and made £0 profit and distributed £4k in dividends. That means the company has offset £4k in dividends against the profit that will be made over the rest of the year. Dropping the corp tax liability by £4k, then he can manage the dividend/income splits to make it work at the end of he year.

As above. The scheme assuming your an ok driver will be about (aside from the tax stuff mentioned above) tying you in for x amount of months etc.

If your reliable, and obviously a half decent driver even on a new pass someone will take a chance on you especially if busy and if you prove yourself to be ok then you’ll be fine. Otherwise the dreaded agency route for as short a time as you can until you slot into a full time job you want.

In summary best doing things yourself imo.

So last year it was £105 for the uniform.

This year its £250. That’s some serious inflation…

wait… my class 2 cost me £1235 which included medical and both theory and that other one for yer cpc etc . my class 1 only cost me £980. This was just under 2 yrs ago? Where are you guys going ?

I spoke with stobarts about my training before I went elsewhere.
They told me.you get an interview at the end not a job offer, so it’s just a training school really and an expensive one

Thats a cracking deal…Cheapest in Leicester just for Class 2/1 was £995-£1350 and that was just for the 4.5 days inc test fees. No Theory, No CPC, No Medical…
