Heard a rumour that Stobart taking over most Tesco deliveries in the new year, anyone else heard this?
Thought they already did most of them.

livingston seems to have most employed, or using tesco branded tractor units anyway.
Don’t listen to porkies.
Ive noticed the state of the scania units that stobart use on the tesco work is shocking, when you get close up theres more scrapes and dents than good paintwork,i thought it was all image with the green plague, there all unwashed and very very shabby, dont see many drivers in the green uniform either, and they smoke in the cabs

The ones i see are usually on the m62 m8 so im guessing their from goole, look a right bunch of scruffs ,i bet the spotters are chuffed when they start taking snaps of a motor thats covered in dents and a mingmong jumps out of the cab
Not surprising. Units being hammered 24/7 by all manner of different drivers whilst being used to negotiate supermarket service yards are gonna get hammered, thats why units with basic bog standard spec are used for that sort of work.

How come the white axors that tesco use in the same state,do they get a better class of agency man aswell
Heres another rumour, I heard stobart has lost the trunking contract for tesco, probably another ■■■■ n bull story

Eddie will never lose T, they’re too linked, T saved them from bankruptcy ten year ago due to the palm stroking skills of Wills & Tink.
T will never give all it’s transport work to one firm or I’ll eat my hat. Most of the T blokes would leave anyway rather than work for Eddie.
That might be a pay cut then
We do Spectrum Brands out of Wombourne and used to do Tesco Rdc’s but then they said they wanted to do the haulage “in house” and asked stobarts to do it, they refused to do it and subbed it out to Someone else so they don’t want all Tesco work.
Who is bothered
Someone who’s job it is
According to some money expert in the red tabloid today, he pulled out £250 million worth of shares in Tesco, along with another big name who also withdrew his shares, and reckons Tesco will be going to the wall soon, their shares today were only worth £2.72.
Then on top of that, their staff are ■■■■, refusing old grannies a bottle of port cos they didn’t have I.D.
And today, told a blind lady to get her dog out of the shop, even though it had a high viz on and a sign saying Blind Dog
I personally cant stand shopping there and prefer one of the others, especially the German ones.

I know tis a bit off subject, but I just can’t help but grin when I hear stories of Tesco and the likes hitting hard times. Their rdc’s are run by half whit ignorant pigs who treat drivers like doggy-doo. Tis a small world and what goes around… Etc… Treat a few hundred drivers like they do and as a company you just p’d off them, all their families / relatives and friends too. I tell everyone I know about the condition of the loos at the Tesco rdc’s and remind them that’s where Tesco dispatch fresh food. Oh and I’m parked up at Thurrock tonight - back in blighty for a couple o weeks or so… Hardly a Brit truck here. Bogs are filthy disgrace… Next the parent co will be announcing profit losses and will wonder why… Clean the bogs FFS !
I needed that rant

Nothing to do with agency drivers, just the large number of different drivers in general in & out of it all the time. Only takes one or two drivers to leave a new unit in a ■■■■ state and then all that follow tend to eventually stop caring, as they know they probably won’t be in it again for ages. The more battered the unit becomes, the more apathetic drivers come towards it… “whats one more scratch” etc.

Me too. They treated me like ■■■■ at one of their RDCs once when I was stuck between a rock and a hard place and asked for a bit of help and ever since that day I haven’t set foot in a Tesco store and haven’t spent a single penny with them. Unlikely as it is, I hope they go to the wall.
