Think it’s very hard to make money on the Britvic job. Wincanton gave it back to Eddie voluntarily I think.

Wincanton…
Didn’t help themselves on that contract by frequently sending an empty down to Magna Park from Leeds to bring an empty back. If they weren’t doing that it was some other daft ■■■■-up like the wrong load to the wrong depot. Also the waiting time at Britvics place was ridiculous, I sat there for over three hours most nights. Even getting in could take 20+ minutes.
Sissons used to do Britvic and Wincanton undercut them, then asked them to come back and do the work on Wincanton rates which I believe Brian Sissons told them where to go.
If Stobart undercut Wincanton then they must have been doing it for nowt

Had a job on Saturday to take a load from ES in Warrington to a retailer’s depot in Bradford. Turns out the customer wanted to get all their stock (5 loads for Friday and Saturday with a further 10 loads for this week) out of ES ASAP. No reasons were given and we don’t normally work for the customer.
Could be just black friday.
It was a load of Percy Pig sweets and fizzy caterpillars. Can’t see them being on a Black Friday deal.

I wouldn’t mind betting Wincanton are already talking to Stobarts customers, ready for the big “pop”.
Expressing an interest was a smart move from Wincanton IMO, even if they had absolutely no intention of buying them the name Wincanton has been all over the press in association with any Stobbie demise therefore who are the first company existing Stobbies customers phone if it all goes breasts North? Yup, the name that has been repeatedly pushed at them for months.

For anyone who does know, if Stobarts were to go belly up tomorrow, what happens to the stock in their warehouses?
If it belongs to other customers and isnt Stobbys property then how easy will it be to get it back?
I cant see 15 trucks turning up for the customers pallets and being allowed to just take whats theirs. Or can they?

yep as long as their storage and other bills have been paid the Admin will let them have their goods , if not they will not release them till all bills are settled
That’s how it worked at Harris’s I’m Eastleigh when they went pop
All part of the paperwork chain, worst case scenario the Administrator / Liquidator will find who owns what and return to the rightful owners.
This would include any leased trucks & trailers, as was seen with Thomas Cook they had cars and vans parked in front and behind planes to stop any body moving them, also they called time when the majority of planes were back in the UK at 02:00 and the long haul flights from the states were in the air en-route to uk.
It’s all fighting talk, Tinker v DBAY! TInklers plan sounds a better one to me, 75m of working capital would definately put the company back in a good place.
