After the four years you’ll prob see a new company
"Stobart logistics in to Europe " or some old bollox like that.
Any name change will undoubtedly be preceded by a statement along the lines of “in a forward moving synergy optimisation and broad partnerships are developing and evolving at a base level enabling a look over partnership satisfying core values and future stability”.

Supposed debt of £200 million, and transport side of business is valued at £200 million. Is this correct? What a joke of a business, and to think of all the fine haulage companies both sides of the border that they put out of business.Janos
Nail on the head…carved up the rate, good companies put out of business, and the penalty is £200 million in dept…got to sell to survive…
I’m guessing the new bods will jack up the rates, and after thinning out the depots and no doubt making massive changes and redundances to make ago of it, they’ll then, once viable again…sell it…
Bet there’s a lot of top management bricking it…
My take on it here.

bit late, sorry, been busy with the day jobs.
Stobart has sold the company to the son, with william staking £280 million, and taking them off the stock market with no debts, a spokesman said they can now restructure without anyone holding them back, This story was reported in the money pages of todays glorious SUN
newspaper.
It puzzles me why they sold it to an asset stripper. Maybe WS couldn’t couldn’t buy it himself and is using this company as a middleman to repurchase it himself in a year or two.
kr79:

Kerbdog:
Or will DBay sell to Norberts in a few years ?

Indeed, it really is that easy. Makes you wonder why ND bought TDG…
Douglasbay Capital and STOB shares seem to be heading south at a rapid rate.
wtf is that ,
Do not start me on Tinkler, he can’t fasten a tie, or speak English. Neither can his son.
His knowledge of the haulage business is cleaning a wagon.
Likes a flutter though. Full on knobhead.

Wharehousing and cold storage mainly. The transport bit was superfluous tbh.
Perhaps in the fullness of time we’ll find out what these deals are really about but I’m not holding my breath. I’d be willing to bet though if you did something similar as an individual it would be illegal…can anyone smell fish?

I was being a little sarcastic. A surprising number of people thing big companies can just lease a few trucks and have whatever work they want.

Sorry mate, should’ve realised. Sunday alcohol does nothing for my wits!
What exactly has Stobart Group been left with after this sale, Is it just Southend airport and the Biomass?
I think they have kept all the warehouseing as well and the land
