I am new on here, this is my first post.
I have been working on agencies lately but work not great and certainly not reliable enough for me. I have been offered a driving assessment at Stobarts, Hawleys Lane on Monday morning. Does anyone here know what type of work it is? Just looking for some inside info, average hours, night pay rates, type of work etc?
Any advice/info will be greatly appreciated.

hi kenny i started with stobarts in widnes not sure if the place your going will be the same but if its (inline with stobarts rates of pay )you will be on £7,20 ph days 9,50 sat,10,50 sun days for the first year no fuel bonus for first three months but you get £13 meal allowance and i thing its £22-50 night out but i have heard the ports drivers are on less ?

I believe some of the F1 lads are based there.
Thanks for your info guys. I’d ask for work at Widnes but don’t think my reversing would be up to scratch. Some of those tesco shops are tight. Been driving rigids lately so will need a bit of practice again.

JD is correct, a lad on the adr course with me ran out of Hawleys Lane, he said it paid less per hour, but lots of waiting around.
It’s the international depot - although the drivers don’t go international that often - for stuff going abroad, mainly ireland stuff from what he said.
it is were the international lads run from and also a lot of the waggon and drags that do general the ops manager is a good lad too pretty straight talking ul be fine

5.5 days? ■■■■ that. Monday to Friday will do me.
As said previously its an international depot, Ive been across to France a few times (3 times in one week) you can get interesting work from there, but planners not always very forgiving. My best take home pay was a weeks tramping from there over £700 too.
Btw, Ive never done a driver assessment for Stobarts what did I miss?
2500 must like the job and hourly rate or they wouldnt be doing it…not that i think its a good rate theres better out there.
