Lets have a decent photo on this thread,the driver that got this 6x2 FL10 new (the late Roy “Bull” Davies) more-or-less knew where the cheapest drams were all over the UK,his CIU membership card was his next most treasured possession to his good lady wife Connie ! But,it was rumoured by some of our lads that if he wasn’t,occaisionally,parked up near a Club he had is own Optic on the back of the cab above the bunk and if one of the Lads happened to be with him he charged “Club” prices,non of that "two for one nonsense !! I have just read Stobart’s interim figures, I have three observations:-
1.) The external work done by Stobart Rail (formerly WA Developments) has declined rapidly in recent years. Most of their work now appears to be inhouse.
2.) Tesco accounts for around 28% of their turnover about £140m per year.
3.) They are struggling with the chilled side and are cutting it back.
If they can’t make money in chilled distribution, bearing in mind chilled distribution is a natural diversification for them, how do they expect to make car transport more profitable!

Here you are “BIG AW” one for you and the small band of PC zealots on the site,very unfortunately I wasn’t sat in either the Drivers or passenger seat when the motor crashed through the building,missed me again ■■■■ it !! I wasn’t aware that the threads were personal property,if so I’ll have to have a word with the Mods to remove some of the “non relevant crap” that infected the Bewick thread at times ! I don’t hold out much for my chances of getting a result,do you ?Cheers Bewick.

It was a Rochdale based 112 that went through a hairdressers salon in Rochdale at 6 a.m. one morning,good job it wasn’t during opening hours ! The ■■■■■■ of a driver hadn’t turned his airlines on so when he touched his brake approaching the lights on the bend,the motor just went straight on up the kerb and demolished the shop !The tractor unit was written off and I bought the wreck back off our insurers for spares as we ran quite a number of 112’s at that time.Cheers Dennis.
The old air tap problem never went well , the benefit of the new ones is you cant forget .
We had a 60 plate unit have the cab almost ripped off a few months ago and my boss couldnt believe they repaired it , seriously damaged to look at but it was repaired .

[/quote I didn’t mind having a rebuild on an older motor but on one within 2 or 3 years I always insisted on a new cab,high tensile steel dosen’t like being re straightend on a jig IMO.Hows this one for you “bowser”,that is the imprint of a University proffessor who commited suicide by jumping out in fron’t of that Scanny on the M6 at Lancaster.The motor was doing 58 mph at 38 ton gvw,witnesses said at the inquset that matey was knocked into the air about 20ft !! He had tried to commit hari kari twice before,once with a rusty bread knife and a second time with a rope out of the attic that had been a “tad” too long !! So he thought he’d make a job of it this time!!.Our driver,poor bugger, was in a bad way for bit but it wasn’t his fault he didn’t stand a chance when this geezer jumped straight out from in front of his car on the hard shouldler !!

Yes I think he did get over it after a while but what made it worse was the proffessors family tried to say it was “misadventure” at the inquest so as to get an insurance pay out (from their insurers,not ours) so everything was gone through in detail which upset our lad again,but they soon proved that as the geezer had tried before and succeeded a third time he was “off his head” so the claim got slung out and a verdict of suicide was given.
Thats a bad story , it you’re going to do it probably best to not involve innocent people thats not good form …

What has this got to do with anything ■■? the first pics where dropped in for no reason and these are irrelavent as well i thought the whole point of starting a new thread was to chat about its topic not for you to hi jack it with pics thats got nowt to do with it and to put a picture of a wreck to make a pointless point is unbeliveable like the post earlier owt on the ■■■■■■■ thread about ESL the balloon goes up.
