Stobart energy

Really sorry to post another stobarts thread.

Stobarts energy are advertising for drivers which is on a separate website to the general haulage side. On here they’ve given all the pay details for the job which I find interesting…

Day rate of £85. Then there’s an hourly rate for Saturday and Sunday. Then there’s the £15 daily meal allowance something like £23 night out, and then a weekly bonus which is based on amount of loads tipped. It says an average of £150 per week, each load bonus is between £9 and £31 with it averaging at £17 per load.

I assume that but isn’t tax free.

So if you add all that up you’d come out with about 600ish per week. But as to a daily rate, being stobarts I imagine your max in your hours all the time which means your essentially working a 15 hour day for 85 quid before tax.

Also means you will only get 85 quid per day for holidays.

Commercial Motor:
Rafia Ahmad, employment solicitor at Backhouse Jones, warned operators to make sure they take bonuses and allowances into account when calculating how much holiday pay drivers are owed. “When it comes to holiday pay they have to look at the average amount earned over a period of time, say 20 days. That is usually above basic pay,” she said.

If that’s right then your working for £5.60ph if you max out on day rate @ £85…

Exactly. Does anyone know if that’s legal? Are you allowed to work 15 hours for 85 quid?

I’m only assuming you will do 15s and 13s because I can’t see any part of the stobart group having drivers only working 10 hours, which make the day rate £8.50 per hour
